Coals makes pizza unlike any I've ever had. The pizza crust is about 2 millimeters thick and it's cooked on a grill (over coal I presume). It's different. Once you get used to it, and it's taken me a few visits, it's delightful. My kids love the wings which come in a few choices of flavors. The salads are phenomenal and big enough for the table to share. And the pizza is tasty and I find myself craving what's leftover in my fridge as I type this. They also have a really nice beer/wine/cocktail menu.Oh, and I shouldn't forget the Nutella dessert pizza, it's pretty special.

Overall: Coals is an eclectically decorated coal-fired pizza joint serving up bold flavors. Even if some don't jive the way they're supposed to, nothing came close to falling flat! Appetizers: Maple Rosemary Wings ($15) - Crispy and flavorful, though verging on overly sweet. Rosemary was subtle enough, it probably could be left out of the name, as the maple flavor dominated. Cilantro Wings ($15) - These were some of the best appetizer wings I've ever had, though they tasted more of a delicious honey mustard than they did cilantro. Delicious, but a misnomer. Entrees: Dean Martin Pizza ($18) - Topped with fresh mozzarella, tomato, pecorino, and basil, this margarita pizza had beautiful crust and the perfect saltiness from the cured pepperoni slices, which were generous and perfectly sliced. Squealin' Pig Pizza ($18) - Topped with fresh mozzarella, tomato, grana padano, bacon, hot honey, and scallions, this pizza had equally delicious crust, but the honey was not hot at all, and its sweetness was actually a tad overpowering, though tasty nonetheless. Marlon Pizza ($18) - Topped with fresh mozzarella, tomato, roasted peppers, arugula, pecorino, and spicy oil, this one had the kick that I expected from the Hot Honey, and was a delicious bite. Cheeseburger ($16.50) - This burger, while not outside the box or novel in any way, was cooked perfectly, juicy, hefty, and flavorful. Dessert: Nutella Pizza ($9) - This was the first Nutella I truly loved! Crispy, thin, and not drowning in Nutella. Perfectly ratioed.

We had a birthday party for 12 For my two-year-old grandson. The food, especially the pizza was out of this world. I've never tasted such light and airy crust and flavorful tops, especially love the white truffle pizza. The service made me feel like they were my family helping us with our meal . You can't go wrong.

Absolutely love Coals. As a Stamford, CT resident, we have all the greatest pizza in the country (in my humble opinion) and Coals is on that list. It's the most unique pizza I've ever had. Awesome flavors and combinations. Highly recommend the wings as well... amazing. Lastly, the owners are awesome. Family-run business and love supporting that. Go to Coals!

Coals in Norwalk, Connecticut, is a culinary delight, offering a perfect blend of community charm and exquisite flavors. The standout pizzas, "Bayside" and "Squilling Pig," impressed with their unique grilled texture and high-quality ingredients. Beyond pizza, the menu features award-winning burgers, wings, and a selection of craft beverages. The dedication of owners Bill Etzel, Nick Restaino, and Joseph Rossi to sourcing local ingredients and fostering a communal atmosphere makes Coals not just a restaurant, but a vibrant part of the Norwalk community. A must-visit for an exceptional dining experience.

Low key, laid back atmosphere with dark lighting and good music. The pizza was so good! Grilled, thin, crispy crust but not cracker crunch. Would totally go back! The drink and beer menu was good too! Must try…Vegetarian options: Anything is vegetarian without meat and if you eat cheese, pizza is always an optionKid-friendliness: Our kids are not toddlers but there were a few with high chairs availableWheelchair accessibility: Restaurant is on ground level, entry may be tight, but wide open once inside.
