despite the many little things they do right such as the service and the coziness of the place, the food wasn't good, You could notice how they were using good ingredients, but the execution was very poor, I did not feel it was worth the price.

Nino was attentive. But the place was empty on a Thursday night. Never gave us a menu. Kind of bullied us into naming what we wanted. Really just wanted a menu.

Walked in with a reservation for 4 people on a Friday evening and promptly seated by the owner/Chef, Nino - no menus - and fed a 6-course menu of excellent food and wine. Absolutely amazing! Go for the absolute surprise of what's coming next, cozy atmosphere, Nino's fun stories (if you care to engage with him - he's a hoot!) and enjoying classically-prepared Italian cuisine, without a worry. Truly an experience we won't forget, and will definitely be back.

This place is small so get a reservation. I attended a company event here and it was fantastic. All of the courses if food were well thought out and delicious. The "have it your way" shrimp stole the show. I would recommend that without hesitation for any part of the meal. Nino is a fantastic host and I hope to visit again soon.

Incredible food and amazing service. We loved the relaxed atmosphere; when you walk in, you immediately get bread and salad and at the end of the meal we got a little cup of gelato. Nino took my allergies into account which I really appreciate!

Not really sure what is going on here with all the great reviews! ( I did notice that some of the reviewers only have one or two reviews which is suspicious). Used to be better years ago but now that he doesn't have a menu your choices are limited. I always question a place when they have a bottle of wine sitting on the table, a bottle of water, and bread before you are seated. We tried his house made bottled red wine which was very syrupy. ( I was with a sommelier so this was her take on it). Needless to say we didn't finish the wine. The special spaghetti squash ravioli was very sweet. The parpadelle bolognese was served with overcooked pasta, and the veal was tough, although the sauce was very good. Needless to say, we won't be back. The owner/ server/busser is very friendly, though.

Amazing Italian restaurant...no menu's everything is specially made for night...and everything was spectacular. This is a new restaurant to me and I will definitely be back. Can't say enough good things about this place.

A winning combination. delicious food and fantastic service. My husband ,our friend and I enjoyed the most delicious Italian dinner. The owner Nino came to our table to share the specials which we ordered and we're thrilled, most delicious! Nino made us feel we were the only table in the restaurant! Very special. A great evening " breaking bread" with our friend. Run, don't walk and get to your table at Mike's Resturant!

Absolutely hands down THE BEST Italian restaurant in CT, we're talking on par with the best of the best in NY (Rao's, il Mulino, Parkside..). This rare gem has been hidden away since 1969. Nino who took it over from his father is a master. Italian born with a fierce culinary background and global travel. Word to the wise, this is not the place to go and order a chicken parm, my advice, just tell Nino to make what he wants for you.

Mike's is one of my favorite restaurants. It's a small and intimate setting where there is no menu although you can ask for specific items and they'll make it for you. The food is absolutely amazing, it feels less like eating at a restaurant and more like eating a delicious home cooked meal.I can't recommend Mike's enough!

The food was superb from appetizer through dessert. Everyone in my party raved about their meals. Nino is great. We came back a second night, because the first night was that good, and Nino remembered everyone's preferences and orders from the night before.
