Spacecat Brewing Company Brewery • $$

“This is one of my favorite breweries. I've been here a few times and I'm always impressed by their beer and food options. They have a lot of events here; check their calendar before you head here. I've been here when there have been birthday parties, dog adoption events, pasta trucks, and Greek food trucks. The inside area is very spacious; you can also watch the brewing process while you're inside. There is plenty of seating inside and out. I've been here when there have been large gatherings here, and there was still plenty of seating available.I love their outdoor seating area too. Dogs are welcome inside and out. I always see a lot of dogs here. I can't wait to stop back soon.“

“The first time we visited Boss Burger was last summer. The AC must have been stressed that day because it was uncomfortably hot inside the restaurant. That colored the experience and we were not impressed. It took us another 8 months to return, but I'm glad we did. The ambience here, with the small dining area, self serve drinks, TV sports, and tight tables is not the greatest frankly, but the service is friendly and the sirloin burgers and assorted fries are truly exceptional. And the burger presentation is great, with top quality meat and buns, and a terrific assortment of options to customize your burger. We will definitely be going back.“

“This is our favorite food truck ever in Norwalk. It is so authentic and delicious. The people are so so nice who on the truck. In the winter months you can order your taco sit in your car while you wait so you don't freeze and then the people will call you over when your food is ready. They do have a picnic table right outside of the food truck but other than that people usually eat in their cars or bring the tacos home if you're nearby, you should definitely go and get some because this place is awesome and super casual.“

Herb's Place Barbecue • $

“20 years ago a food truck gave me food poisoning and I never considered another one again. If you're like me and you assumed nothing good could come out of the back of a food truck, you may be correct. However, excellent food comes out of the side of Herbs all summer long! Restaurant quality without the frills and added expense. I should have given them a chance years ago.“

Beer selection is vast, can find anything from a porter to a pilsner to a red ale. The nitro stout was delightful, so much so that I had to double up on it. Nice outdoor area with a fire pit for when it gets cold and various other indoor areas to sit (including some cool, old fashioned pinball machines). Highly recommend!“

GELATO&Cioccolato Ice Cream Shop •

Gelato

“Came upon this place when we were in the neighborhood for the children's museum and my mother-in-law said she had a hankering for some ice cream. A lot of the reviews and some the photos here say it's a stand alone shop but the directions led us to a stand in front of a Zara and next to an Auntie Anne's pretzel stand. The stand was run by just one person who had to quite the line of folks aching for their ice cream folks. Between us four adults, we all chose different combinations of the Tiramisu, amorino, bacio, and chocolate. The gelato here is goooood - creamy, full flavor whether it be nutty, chocolate or cherry. My tot was a more of a fan of the cone than the gelato. The gelato here was not particularly pricey for Norwalk or it being gelato, as opposed to traditional ice cream. My one and only gripe was really that after the person finished serving up the line, he quickly wrapped up with a handmade BRB sign and left his post. The stand remained unmanaged and with some gelato-hungry potential customers lurking back and forth for at least 20 minutes. We eventually left and never saw the guy return to the stand after we finished our scoops. I hate to feel we really lucked out timing-wise but seemed like we did. Just hope to be as lucky the next time we are in the neighborhood and are craving a couple of scoops.“
