We love Johnnys and look forward to their opening each summer. We wish it was open year round. Love their specials and my favorite is the shrimp. My family loves the scallop tacos and the fish and chips. Great food every time. Service is fast and they will even bring it out to the car for you. We also like to use the online ordering .

Haven't been there for a couple years when I had tacos which were good.Yesterday got shrimp, onion rings and clam fritters, which they normally only have Mondays, which I kept missing. I hate that I have to order online. He has his reasons, as do I.Shrimp very good, onion rings and coleslaw also very good. Clam fritters were disappointing. If it were just a fritter, good flavor. Clam fritter, no sir, doesn't qualify. Blindfolded, never would have known. This is a common complaint and honestly, I don't know why places don't do better. I don't literally need to see the clams (although it would be nice) but I need to taste them. A little clam broth maybe I don't know.They delivered curbside which is nice because I cannot walk well. All in all good meal and happy business is doing well.Happy hibernation Johnny and staff!

If you like fried seafood and hush puppies, this place is pretty okay! It's not quite on the same level as a place on the coast, but for being this far inland, it's pretty good. Their hush puppies were my favorite part of the meal!

Best seafood ever. And I've had seafood in both Gloucester Mass (seafood capital of the USA) and in the UK (where fish and chips comes from) and can say 'the Shack ' beats them all. My only regret is they'll be closed for the season soon. But for tonight it's a taste of heaven with fish and chips.Parking: It's free so come on down.

I'm giving this place 5stars because of the reviews I just read ...the positive and negative ones. This score is due to the great responses from the owner whom I assume is Johnny. Even though I have not as yet visited this establishment...I certainly will based on the owners responses to reviews. I find him honest and refreshing!!! Good for you...My daughter and I will see you soon.

Food is AWESOME!! It's just the service that I had an issue with. The employee at the counter didn't acknowledge me I felt ignored after standing there as she continued to walk back and forth bringing things out to customers. She at least could've said "I'll be right with you" five simple words.
Had a short trip to Connecticut and Johnny's topped our list of favorite Lobster roll! (We tried 2 others located in Westbrook) Johnny's role had a generous amount of claw meat and was dripping with butter. The clam strips also consisted of a generous portion. Great little hidden gem in Norwich!

Not many places in this are will offer whole belly clams. They were delicious. Only 3 star because of lousy service and lack of being honest. I received a call one minute before I got to the window and was told if I wasn’t there they weren’t holding the order because it’s seafood and it spoils easily. I said ok but I will be there in a minute. Then the answer was was we started a new order because yours was cold and thrown out. Well last straw for this place. We did like the food! But the over half hour wait because I was a minute late. Not a likely excuse! And seating if you want to eat in is a hot parking lot.

I'm a New England girl and now live in Southern Pennsylvania. I make a 5 and a half hour trip to New England twice a year for clam bellies. I went to 4 different places this year and Johnny's was by far the best. Friendly staff and delicious bellies.

Fantastic food every time! We enjoy picking up yummy seafood dinner from here! Last time they forgot my chowder and after I called to let me know they kindly refunded it. We will definitely be returning.

It was Monday so clam fritters was on the menu and we also ordered the clam chowder which was delicious. Just wish there were more clams in the fritters. You can order ahead online which is nice.
