We had the daal maakhni and the kerala coconut curry lamb and both were out of this world delicious. The shoreline is incredibly lucky to have the Curry Queen ☺️

I'd give 6 stars if I could. Fantastic food, best korma i have ever had. Everything was on point and above and beyond. Sadith gave us the best service one could provide, and took very good care of us. Will definitely be back

Was a big fan of Curry Queen and returned there after being away with anticipation of a great meal. What a disappointment! The Chicken Tikka masala tasted like it was made with lamb. Very dark meat. When I inquired with the waiter, the owner appeared at the table and told me it is always made with chicken thighs. I know for a fact I have NEVER eaten it there or anywhere when it wasn't chicken breast. In fact, when I got home I found a picture on my phone of that dish from their opening day with white meat! Now, it is remotely possible that every other time I've ordered it I specified white meat, but I don't think so. But ok, maybe it was just an off night so we said just make us a new one and we will pay for it. The owner said she wasn't sure she had any chicken breast. Really???Then, when the waiter brought the second try, he sloshed a little by accident on the table. The way she yelled at him in front of us was just terrible. Something is really off! Not the same relaxed fun place anymore. The sauce didn't taste at all like the same delicious sauce I remember, they didn't give us any more rice even though we were paying for a second entree, the nan was VERY different, like what you'd buy in Stop and Shop, and the lentils that we asked to be mild were super spicy. All that aside, what bothered me the most is how uncomfortable the owner made us feel. I've had that dish 10 times in the last year both in-house and take out, and it was never made with dark thigh meat. Yet, she insisted it is always made with dark meat. I'm sitting there telling her I can't get passed the flavor and texture of the greasy dark meat and she offered no compromise. It's easy to forgive an off night, or one bad meal, but when you gaslight the customer and make them feel bad for speaking up about the preparation, you lose the customer. Any other restaurant wouldn't charge someone for a dish they cannot eat. I used to love this place and see this all as a bad sign that they are struggling to stay open. The whole situation makes me sad and I won't be going back.

The food was mediocre. Naan was hard. No raita on the online menu. CTM tasted like pure salt. Overall not impressed.

Very bizarre experience!!!I had dinner with a friend on Friday. I had had lunch there the previous week and enjoyed it, so decided to go again. The waiter recognized me, thanked me for coming back. He was friendly and attentive. My friend and I were having a nice evening catching up and enjoying the food and wine we had ordered. Our waiter even brought over a carrot dish, asking if we would be willing to try it and review it, as they were considering adding it to the menu. After dinner, my friend wanted something sweet, so we ordered a dessert to share. Our waiter brought it to the table. Just behind him was the owner approaching our table. I smiled and started to tell her that we enjoyed our meal, but she interrupted and told us we needed to leave because her staff gets upset if they have to stay late; it was a little before 9pm. We ate a few bites of our dessert while we waited to pay our bill. After paying, I got up from the table and put on my coat. The owner approached us again telling us we had to leave and her staff is already late going to the train station.Although we enjoyed the food and our waiter did a good job, I certainly will not be returning.Maybe in the future, there could be better communication amongst the owner and staff. Rather than being asked if we wanted dessert, we could have been told that the staff needed to leave, so dessert would not be possible. We might have been disappointed, but we would have returned.

Tried Curry Queen for the first time with mixed reviews. Chicken Korma was very good but the garlic Naan was dry and hard, almost seemed a day or two old. We ordered beer with our meal (no drink menu) and discovered beers were way overpriced at $10 each when we received our bill. Very disappointed.

The food is perfection!! Being Indian myself, it’s hard to find authentic yummy food!! The owner herself made sure whatever was being served was nothing but amazing! This restaurant is a little far for me, but definitely worth the drive. The curry chicken and peeli daal are my favorite!! The service was great too! Can’t wait to go back!!

One of the best restaurants in Old Saybrook and the CT Shoreline. Took my wife and the food was fantastic and pricing reasonable. Great Indian food at a good price.
