The only reason we were at this location, was because we were in the area. It's a much smaller store, and specific items are not stocked here. Pretty much 80% of the things I needed aren't kept here. Other than that, it's somewhat organized here. It was super busy when we arrived, so I wasn't expecting a clean store. There were bags of flour with punctures in them, and the very last bag I needed, had a huge hole in it.

I've been coming to this location weekly for 6 years now. Some of the staff is kind and helpful. Some are less so. Specifically, I am talking about a guy named Steve (bald guy with goatee and the worst attitude I have ever experienced). He is responsible for moving product around the store on the forlifts. Let's start with the fact this man has no respect for customers. He is driving around with product on his forklift very dangerously. Taking corners like a madman with no thought of who is on the other side. I have personally almost got hit about 100 times by this gentleman's forklift alone. This is an estimate amount but over the last 6 years it's been every week I have an incident with this man. I understand they must indicate to customers by beeping, but Steve, oh he takes it to a whole new level. He follows you with the forklift and intentionally beeps over and over again in different patterns again and again even after he has already indicated his presence. It feels almost predatory. It's a horrible feeling, horrible experience and the worst service I have ever had at any retail location I have ever experienced. I have personally almost been injured seriously so many times because of him I do now know how to express my frustration and dismay more than I already have. I've contacted the management over seven times about this exact scenario and every single time I come back and it is the same. I will have to get the things I need online instead of coming back to this location while Steve is still there. Management maybe talked to him but his attitude has never changed. He is the worst and I hope every customer of this establishment sees this review so they can avoid serious injury. This employee is a lawsuit waiting to happen for Restaurant Depot.

This is the worst restaurant depot in CT. We only do business here when in dire need of a product. The staff is unfriendly and not helpful. Today they had over 20 people wanting to check out and only two lines open with another cashier not taking customers because she made it clear she wanted to go home. They drive the forklifts in an unsafe and dangerous manner, palettes are left in the middle of isles and walkways which make it difficult to get by. They treat the store like it's a roadway or the Indy 500. Staff are seen to converse with each other while blocking isles with forklifts and palettes while looking at us and seeing we need to get by. Waterbury & Hartford RD has helpful staff, they are clean and well organized.

When my friend went to buy beef at Restaurant Depot, the price tag was different from what it said on the machine. It charged him an extra $45 when the price had been different on the tag before (this has happened multiple times to him before, last time they charged him an extra $76). Then he went to customer service and told them about the situation they told him he should go talk to the manger about the issue. When he did, she told my friend to find someone else because she was busy. When he went to ask someone else, they told him to ask the manager from before. She told him to wait there in a harsh tone. He waited for about 1 hour, there had been no response from the woman. He told her he had to go to work, but she ignored him and acted like he was transparent. When he raised his voice and repeated what he said before, she threatened to call the police on him and to kick him out of the store. The manager had also told the police that he threatened her when he said nothing to do that. They then banned him from coming back to the store and cancelled his account. The situation makes me very upset, because he was a white man instead of an asian, things would've gone differently. It was a terrible shopping experience for him. nothing compares to what happened that day. If I could rate it a zero, I would but unfortunately that option doesn't exist. Next time if you're shopping at Restaurant Depot, please be careful and double-check your receipt.

RD is Just convenient. Only a few helpful people, others are straight disrespectful. Like the guy at the front. I hear him calling people names all the time. For instance, while I was paying, I heard him tell one of the girls on the register to " tell that old man to come to this lane". A minute later, while I waited to get my receipt checked, he called another man a "**** a*** for being mislead on an item price. I keep coming back because it's convenient, but service is

What an odd place. Disorganized, weak signage, weak attention to check-out lines, one line only for credit cards (must be financed by the predatory credit card companies). BUT prices are interesting...in some cases excellent prices, in other cases Costco does as good. If we had a real working eatery, we would probably be forced to go there more often.

I frequent RD in port Chester mostly and sometimes have to come to this one. The lines are always extremely long. Management doesn't seem to open lines up when there's a rush. Nor, does it seem they want to get you out in a timely manner. The staff is always outside smoking so you get blasted as you enter the building. The carts are NEVER near the entrance where they're supposed to be. They are spread out across the parking lot. The bathrooms are always in dirty conditions. And lastly, the staff will run you down with the Dolly's... they are unpleasant and annoyed by you shopping there.
