I've been going here for years. Coffee is always great, baked goods are amazing and the staff is excellent but the food is hit or miss. There's just no consistency in what you'll get. If the prices were a little lower I probably wouldn't mind but paying $10 for a BLT with one piece of bacon feels like a rip off. If you happen to get someone in the kitchen who actually cares about what they're making then your food will be fine but there's just no way of knowing, so I would say skip the food and stick to the baked goods and coffee.

Coffee was good. My issue was with customer consideration. My partner and I came inside because it was chilly, 56 degrees out. The side door was open on the cafe side and blowing cold air in I asked if we could shut it since it was getting colder and I didn’t have a coat on me. A girl up front seemed a little annoyed I ask but closed it anyways. A few minutes later someone from the kitchen came up to me and stated he was going to reopen the door. I explained it was getting cold and he politely asked us to another table. Switching tables wasn’t going to change much and I didn’t bring anything so ended up leaving before the event we were sticking around for. It’s been a long week and we came to unwind, it was just disappointing more than anything. I’ve worked in a kitchen myself so I understand it can get warm, was surprised they didn’t have a door in back they could open.

Great coffee shop inside Ct Valley brewing! The pastries are so good- I recently tried the raspberry coffee cake. The cappuccino was made perfectly.

Nestled on **765 Sullivan Ave in South Windsor, CT**, Birdhouse Coffee isn't just a coffee shop; it's a symphony of flavors, warmth, and community. As I stepped inside, the rich aroma of freshly roasted beans enveloped me, inviting me to stay awhile. The baristas, true artisans, take their time crafting each pour-over. I opted for their signature blend, the **"Morning Song"**, a dance of Ethiopian Yirgacheffe and Colombian beans. With every sip, I tasted dark chocolate, ripe berries, and a hint of floral sweetness—a harmonious composition. But let's dive deeper into the coffee symphony Birdhouse offers:1. **Morning Song**: The star of the show, this blend is a morning ritual. It greets you with a gentle crescendo of flavors, awakening your senses for the day ahead.2. **Sunrise Serenade**: A light roast that sings notes of citrus and jasmine. Perfect for those who prefer a delicate melody in their cup.3. **Velvet Sonata**: A medium-dark roast with undertones of caramel and toasted hazelnuts. It's like a warm embrace on a chilly afternoon.4. **Midnight Rhapsody**: For the night owls, this bold blend boasts dark chocolate, smoky cedar, and a touch of mystery. Pair it with a slice of their decadent chocolate cake. And the pastries deserve a standing ovation. The **blueberry scone**, flaky and buttery, burst with juicy blueberries. Paired with my coffee, it was a delightful duet. But Birdhouse Coffee isn't just about the brew; it's about connections. Locals gather here, sharing stories, laughter, and sometimes a game of chess. It's a haven—a place where caffeine meets camaraderie. The rustic wooden decor, soft jazz, and friendly baristas create an inviting ambiance. Whether you're seeking a morning pick-me-up or an evening refuge, Birdhouse Coffee hits all the right notes. So, if you find yourself in South Windsor, follow the melody to Birdhouse Coffee. It's more than coffee; it's a soulful tune—a reminder that life's best moments happen over a cup of warmth.*Disclaimer: This review reflects my personal experience and taste preferences.
