This charming restaurant is the perfect spot for a romantic evening. Clean environment, soft lighting, and elegant decorations. Views of the lake add breathtaking backdrop to the dining experience. One of the highlights is the kissing bridge-if you are in love, it's a must do - and yes, I did share a memorable kiss with my fiance there. Highly recommended for a special night out.

If you are coming to the Mill on the River and you are in a wheelchair, please make sure you have a good strong companion with you. You will need help navigating the path designated as "handicap access."This restaurant should be ashamed of themselves. The sidewalk is in such bad shape, someone placed a floor mat over the worse of it. All that did was hide a big hole I'm guessing. Once you tried to roll over, the wheel sunk into something and turned. Now, we were stuck in hole and had great difficulty going in either direction. When we were leaving, a woman in a wheelchair was being pushed towards the sidewalk by who appeared to be her daughter. I cringed knowing what was going to happen and it definitely did. They were stuck. If we weren't there, the wheelchaired person would have had to wait alone while the caregiver got some help.I realize the restaurant building is quite old and historic but sometimes money needs to be spent so all patrons can enjoy the food, drink, atmosphere and service. They maintain a working elevator to ferry the handicapped upstairs when necessary. However, they need to get into the building without getting hurt first. The food and the service on Easter was wonderful. I'll give credit where it is deserved but honestly, not maintaining the walkway the wheelchairs need to traverse, is extremely sad and unfortunate.Mill on the River - do better by those in wheelchairs and rollators!Wheelchair accessibility: Horrible

Manager and bartender were RUDE went for a party a situation happened it was being resolved and the manager decided that she didn’t want it to end and got real disrespectful and threw us out because she didn’t like the fact that she wasn’t able to speak to us any way she wanted then called the cops on us !!! By far the worst experience I’ve had in a restaurant thus far the food was mediocre and the drinks were weak not worth the money and will never be back !

Seated 4 at 1730 on Tuesday with no reservation and no wait. What an incredible dining experience! The seafood here is absolutely delicious, Chilean Sea Bass was to die for. Brilliant flavor, wonderful accoutrements, and a mouthfeel that's almost impossible to describe. Had tiramisu for dessert, and that was also incredible.Atmosphere in this place is also incredible, if you're not from New England the covered bridge is absolutely adorable and serves for really cute ambiance.

We had the pre-fix menu on Easter Sunday. The meal was fantastic and everything was smooth and efficient. From the ladies at the check-in to our checkout, everything was perfect. Serving staff work seamlessly together. We had the soups, salads, and shrimp cocktail to start. Shrimp were huge and tender, cocktail sauce was just right. For the main course, we had lamb, salmon, and the shrimp/scallops fra diavolo. Each dish was plated with care and arrived at the table just after the apps were cleared and after we had received more of the warm dinner rolls. The generous portions allowed for leftovers to take home. Dessert was a chocolate ball with a light creamy filling and a layer of chocolate cake. We also got the tiramisu, which was another hot choice.Decor is a classic and historic mill (on a river!) with classy touches and upgrades.Parking: parking is always tight at the mill. If meeting w a group, I suggest traveling together whenever possible... there is overflow parking across the street but the road is quite busy. If you have to park across the street, definitely drop the gang off first... that road is not good for kids or mobility impaired folks to cross... and fairly dangerous in bad weather or night.

First time going to the mills. Beautiful place in and out food was amazing. I give this a 4 star only because the waiter seemed a bit rushed. Maybe slow down a bit. Other than that I would definitely go back,

The girl in the phone promised me a water view when I got here I was in the back by the kitchen. It was my birthday and I had 6 year old twins that would have enjoyed seeing the water. Very disappointing

DO NOT HOST AN EVENT HERE!I was scheduled to have an event here in 2020 and put down a $250 deposit, was never told that it was non refundable. Covid hit and I had a baby and decided to postpone my event since I was not willing to risk getting my newborn or elders sick. I gave plenty of notice and they were "understanding at the time" since literally everything was shutting down.I have been trying for almost a year now to get a refund or credit and after getting the go around I was just told that "we don't offer credits or refunds."I will make sure that none of my friends and family host events here in the future.
