Hands down the worst ribs I have ever eaten. Super chewy and gristly. Figured the bbq sauce might save them and boy was I wrong. Paid for a bbq sauce that couldn’t even be eaten it was that bad. Absolute waste of money.

awesome food and service scratch that... wasnt too pleased with the order last night. Had to wait 15 autobahn minutes for my order. I arrived 5 minutes prior to the time, my potatoes were already sitting on the plate. 20 minutes later the chicken is added and when i made a comment about the potatoes sitting there and being cold i was told no they are hot. They were ice cold! Wasn't impressed!!

Sadly, the current rating is not reflective of new owners. While friendly, the food was mediocre. It was clear my half bbq chicken was reheated from the day before. The ribs were okay. Their coleslaw was very fresh. The restaurant is tired and old... sometimes great if the bbq raged as a 5 star. One of my measures of restaurants is the bathroom - didn't meet might standard if cleanliness but it was ok. I was excited for great bbq based on the reviews and rating. Like the restaurant, it was dated.

Long time fan! Very disappointing experience 10/7/23. Chicken was dry and overcooked. Frying oil was in need of changing.

First time at Hen House very disappointing. I ordered a half of a rotisserie chicken with barbecue sauce and it was nothing spectacular, The chicken was cleay old. Nothing fresh about it at all!! I ordered potatoe salad with eggs mixed in on the side. No seasoning whatsoever! I substituted my fries for onion rings instead which were very oily and burnt in some areas. Trust and believe I won't be back. When I have a hankering for BBQ, and some decent potatoe salad and onion rings, I am cooking my own food at HOME!

Since Ronnie left they changed the food! Grease makes the food taste nasty it's not clean oil! I'm so disappointed it's terrible now! They ruined by trying to fix something that wasn't broken! Time to move on we WILL NOT be ordering there again!! Was good while it lasted!

Always have a good meal here. Got the ribs today and.......fabulous. meaty, flavorful, and fall off the bone. Friendly staff. Don't expect "southern BBQ " here. This has more of an asian meets american flair. Really good. BBQ chicken is really good here as well.

Changed ownership the last year or so ago..its not the same. Used to be our to go place for fried chicken.not anymore.
Always get a good meal at the Hen House. I love corned beef Ruben sandwiches and they make an awesome one. The sides are homemade and completely delicious!

Not sure if the people of CT actually know 5 star BBQ, but this place is not it. Buffalo chicken sandwich is okay, but I have had better. Wings are small and same with the “dipping sauce” side of ranch only good enough to dip 1 fry. Staff are friendly.

I tried the ribs and the fried chicken thinking it was as good as years ago… I was wrong. The ribs and chicken were dry. The ribs had hardly any barbecue sauce and tasted like they had been reheated. Too bad … I was looking forward to a great meal.

Based, partly on positive reviews and also because of my craving for fried chicken, I made a 45 minute trip to the Henhouse. Ordered for myself and my family. SO disappointed. The place is dirty & small & the staff's attitude was less than helpful; the cook worked with a cell phone in his hand. Fried chicken breasts were hard as a rock with way too much dry coating. Big sheets of it fell off onto the plate. No flavor. Scallops & shrimp dinners were appetizer-sized and equally tasteless.
