Horrible service. I don't leave reviews often but this place just pushed me over the edge with the worst service possible. I feel bad because the food is good but the person who 'serves' has no respect for other human beings, never mind appropriate customer service. It was once our go-to place to eat but not anymore. The food wasn't worth the god-awful service.

Looking for south Indian place, this is definitely worth a try.Meals is good especially we do Doordash orders with meals and we can easily share a meal with another one. Good quantity, just plan to keep some extra rice.We went there for dinner once, okay dosas and okay chutney, I'd say mediocre quality for dinner.3 stars because, worth trying for meals ( do takeout / delivery and save money). No good service and they charge you 4% extra for credit cards. Really? You know that credit card companies charge 2% then why charge 4% to customers.

It’s been over 24 hours since we ate at this place and we still feel full. We went for lunch yesterday and ended up skipping dinner breakfast and lunch today. It is not because we over ate or over ordered but it’s about the food! We ordered cocktail idlies which tasted good and sambar and chutneys were good as well. But the dosa was flavourless and the vadas were definitely not fresh. My guess is that the vadas were the frozen ones that they had fried and served us. Vadas are usually spongy with a softer outer layer. The vadas we had at this place were harder and oily and just not how they must taste. If you wish to eat out but feel good even after eating outside, this may not be the place. But if you wish to skip eating for the next 24 hours and feel full and bloated , this is one of them. .I am super curious what went into food that has kept us hunger free for a day!

The dosa and appetizers are sooo delicious! The coconut chutney could use some flavor and be less liquid. But overall great place for dosas, don't have to hike down to queens now.

Really authentic South Indian food. We tried the rasam, gunpowder dosa, Mysore masala dosa, and one of the thalis. Everything was freshly made and top notch!! Must go place if good food is your focus. Not for people looking for a ‘fancy’ dining experience.

My favorite Indian joint in Stamford, CT. The Chana Masala contains a perfect blend of spices, tomato's, and flavor without too much Garam Masala which often ruins the taste of some Indian dishes. The meals I receive from this establishment never fail to dissapoint me, keeping me satiated for hours after eating. However, I do not know how the food is prepared, and most Indian restauraunts in the United States often include refined vegetable oils in their cooking (I do not know if this establishment uses them), but if so I'd like to offer some advice- you guys should start using mustard oil, or coldpressed olive oil, just make sure that you purchase an olive oil that is certified and authentic.

I love this place; food is fresh, lovely, delicious with authentic flavors & making process even though the inner ambience might not be so appealing! Would love to visit again!

Adyar Ananda bhavan is really great place to dine in and experience food which is quite good, authentic & on par with taste you find in good restaurants in India. I love the South Indian food they serve, specially Uttapam, Dosa & Idli wada. If you get a chance also try the cocktail Idli, its amazing.

Never ever go to this restaurant. It has the worst service possible. We reached there 12:30 for lunch. The host told us it will be 30 minutes wait for food which was ok. We didn’t get our menu for 15 minutes as they didn’t have enough. After everything was sorted our first dish came at 2pm which was almost 1.5 hours later and last one at 2:30pm. The host was extremely rude, not even apologetic for food delay and started shouting on us telling he can’t do anything if food is delayed as that’s how the restaurant works.I had to give 1 point as there is no option in giving negative numbers.

Used to be my favorite place, Not any more. The manager on the front desk is super rude and has zero manners talking to customers .They treat people as if they are giving food for free, absolutely zero professionalism. Also the the food is not as great as it used to be before . Never going back again .

Please do not ever go to this restaurant. They have worst service possible with extremely rude host. Food is below average. Food delays are huge. At first the host told us 30 minutes wait for food which turned into 1.5 hour for our first dish to arrive. The host was not even apologetic about food delay instead he started shouting on us saying this how restaurants work. I’ll never recommend this restaurant to anyone ever.

We were two people and ordered few things. Among those Uttapam was good and Idli was just fine. Where we got bummed is the Rava masala Dosa. This was the worst Rava Dosa that we have ever eaten. On top of it the service was really slow (While there was only one other table occupied in the restaurant). Not sure if there was a problem in the kitchen that caused all of this. Quite disappointing especially when we love South Indian food.

This was delicious Indian food, I would guess very authentic. We ordered the Chana sag which is my go to order and the Punjabi style eggplant which was Smokey and delicious. Also had the samosas which were good. We did order deliver on seamless so I can't speak to service in the restaurant but the order arrived timely and accurate and hot.

A standard fare for any south Indian restaurant is its masala dosa. How can you fail miserably in such staple is beyond me. Granted, they are not going to make the sambhar from scratch for every order. But their sambhar when served must be hot. It was not. Owner/server did not even apologize for setving lukewarm sambhar. Well, temperature of sambhar is not the only complaint. Sambhar must have that Southy taste, bit spicy, but hot (to taste), must have some basic veggies and curry leaves in it. Nothing! Few pieces of potatoes do not count- its an affront to the name sambhar. Moving on to the potato subji for the dosa itself. Again, just boiling potatoes, smashing them and adding turmeric and salt is an abysmal depiction of subji. Now on a personal note; Adhyar and Krishnamuthy are almost synonymous. He may not approve of this review but I know he'd appreciate general public knowing about Adhyar, not THAT Adhyar but Adhyar Anand Bhavan in Stamford CT.
