I used to love going to La Perle with my family. I wanted to eat something tasty just like it used to be when they first opened. I purchased 3 goat platter and got goat grease for meat. The meat was so tough, gamey, nobody could eat it. I also purchased 3 platters of chicken fritters. There was no chicken in it, the dough was so tough the kids couldn’t even eat them. The black rice looked like they used food dye instead of mushroom. The rice was undercooked. I spent over $100 for dinner in this time of inflation, all of it go to waste. I never see the owners in there anymore. Owners please make sure to check on your staff because the quality of food is not there anymore.

Learned about this Haitian restaurant a while back, it’s a gem. Had a dinner party there and it was great. The food and drinks were excellent. Only slight negative was that our assigned attendant didn’t speak much English. My family speaks a similar kreyol so it was ok and the owners were around to assist if needed. I highly recommend the griot and the bread pudding. Nice spot to try top tier Haitian cuisine. The zouk and konpa music selection was also a nice vibe.Parking: This is a short one way street with meter parking but it’s luck and chance to get a spot. There is a parking garage on the next block right behind the restaurant with a 5minute walk back to the restaurant. It was $1 per hour so very reasonable.

Food was OK...servings were not consistent I was there with 4 others 2 people ordered the same dish and the serving for 1 was at least twice the size of the other :) Service was below par, server arguing with the folks about what they ordered and what came with the meal even though the menu showed we were correct...what ever happened to the customer is always right...LOL...they were out of some of the food @ 2.00 in the afternoon on Saturday...seems like a tend for this place as this is the 3dr time being there, not by my choice, And it is the same old story...one time we tried to go there for restaurant week and they decided they were not participating that day even though they were advertised as participating...lol...I will not be going back that is for sure

I called to make a reservation for a party ... at first the staff never returned any of my calls and when someone finally did. The lady was very rude and made a nasty comment. I decided not to ever set foot there again.
I am so disappointed in this place. The didn’t have white rice that came with my order. How do you undercooked salmon. I wasn’t going to write a review but I feel like I should because we just spent $150 to go in the trash. The chicken wings were the only decent thing on the menu. 20% service fee is added upfront for a party of 2. This is it for me.

This may sound strange but I must tell you that among everyone behind the counter at the bar, the manager, she is rude and very disrespectful. Our waitress, Evelyn, fortunately was very professional and cordial. Honestly there is a lot to be considered for improvement in that place.

Excellent!!! The food was perfect! I had the snapper and black rice. I travel for work, and have been to restaurants all over the US. This place is a hour and a half from where I am staying, and I must say.... HANDS DOWN, La Perle has some the best Haitian food I have had... Definitely going back again before I leave Connecticut!
