Authentic in the way you might possibly get murdered walking in the seedy back door. The filthy, post-industrial carpeting also really adds to the ambiance. I ended up with a pretty standard grinder grinder for a premium price. Hard to see how the place holds up considering the other options in town.

We ordered several trays of deli goodie’s and they were absolutely wonderful! We will definitely be ordering again!

I keep giving them second chances but they continue to disappoint. I waited more than 15 minutes only to receive a cold toasted tuna sandwich that was pancake thin for $10. Poor service, low quality food and too expensive. Not the Italian delis I grew up with! C-ya Salerno’s.

My first time. No contact take out service only. I ordered an Italian combo. A very very good sandwich. Second best sandwich in Torrington behind Carbone's. The $14.00 price tag was a little steep. They use chopped lettuce which makes it a sloppy meal but still very good.

have driven by this spot for years and never stopped, that changed today and boy am i glad! girlfriend and i got the famous godfather and it was delicous! all the ingredients were fresh and bread was amazing. if you get the works it has hot sauce which may seem a bit different on an italian grinder but it works so well! the explosion of flavors was great and i cant wait to try more of there sandwiches! will be back soon

This place had a variety of sandwiches to choose from. I loved the fact that they gave them their own unique names. Makes it memorable. What ever you order, you'll be satisfied for sure! Can't wait to go back!

sad to see that Salernos has gone out of business, no website, they dont answer the phone, and no FB posts since 2017. They will be sorely missed in Torrington

The sandwiches at Salerno's are fun and different. You can taste the quality of ingredients compare to other sandwich shops I could name (*cough*Subway*cough*). Parking is a bit of a challenge, being right before a busy intersection and the Torrington police station, so look carefully when you turn!

One would think if you are paying $14 for a grinder they could get your order right. Need to pay attention to how your customers want their sandwiches.

My absolute favorite place to buy grinders/subs hands down. Their salads and other dishes are also amazing!

Their godfather might be the best sandwich I've ever had.
