Rice and peas are good, but I was disappointed with the stew chicken and jerk pork. The chicken was stringy and the pork didn't have much depth to the jerk flavor in it. The sauce was generic. However, the patty and coco bread were really good.

Came in to order food around 10 in the morning. The girl who should’ve been working the front was sitting at a table on her phone the entire time while I was waiting to order. At one point she finally got up to call what looked like the cook to come to the front to take my order. Had no Ackee and salt fish prepared for an order when that’s usually eaten for breakfast (second time this happened) I had to settle for oxtail which was really good it just wasn’t what I wanted. Only poor review I have would be the service. The cook looked kind of confused putting in my order, he called back to the lady that should’ve been in the front several times for assistance but she was too preoccupied on her phone

It's a chill spot. The atmosphere is okay, but problem with the food. I paid $20 for a large oxtail and I was given mostly rice. When trying the oxtail. Oxtail should melt like butter off the bone, or at least a little pull But it's extremely chewy and you can't get any of the meat from off the bones. Not worth $20.The white rice is okay, but the cabbage is not seasoned well.Overall the rice and cabbage is edible I have a lot of bones with meat for the oxtail which was supposed to be my main source of meat

Tried for the first time yesterday. The jerk sauce is liquid gold. At one point I literally drank it. Chicken was tender, flavorful and fall off the bone. Beef patty was excellent as well. I’ll be going back for sure. Can’t say that I’m a Jamaican food connoisseur at all but all I know is, I had a really wonderful meal that was reasonably priced for what you get and was greeted with a smile when I walked through the door. What more can you ask for. Highly recommend.

I never have any complaints anytime I go here or order from here. The food is always so delicious and the portions are definitely worth the money paid for the food. You can tell the food is always made with love. ❤️

The food here is terrible and that’s being nice. Not even close to being authentic. I was so disappointed and can not recommend this place at all. I’ve purchased food from here a couple times in hopes that it was just an off day for them, but it appears that this low quality, awful tasting food is their norm. I’ll have to continue making trips to Hartford for real Jamaican food. Hopefully they hire a real Jamaican chef and turn this disastrous place around.

Nobody greeted me. Nobody brain thought to say atleast a “hi” to a paying customer first and last. These people look white, who are they very uncultured they don’t know how to service black customers without a greeting, maybe if im white I get a hey welcome to Jamaican kitchen what can we do for you. Good mediocre it’s Vernon a wyte town what do anyone even a puppy expect. Large jerk chicken meal $15.88. First and last for some things! If you want Jamaican in 860 go to Hartford lolz…

Terribly disappointed! Some some of the worst so called Jamaican food I have eaten. No spices. Like nursing home food, except the bones. My oxtail plate was six bones a spoon of vegetables a ton of rice and beans. Looks good, not. Don't know what was going on with the stew chicken. Chicken patties were so tough you could use for shoe leather . I know sometimes you have a bad day but a different location didn't change things. I have tried with them three times. Nice looking restaurant can't make up for good food .If you are going to call yourself a Jamaican restaurant be authentic and share what island food really is

Okay, first of all, if you’re an authentic Jamaican that actually knows how the food is supposed to taste then this place is not for you. This is Jamaican food for white people which would explain all these reviews. It’s bland, not tasty or seasoned. I ordered jerk pork, which is more like stew pork, rice and peas and plantains. The plantain was alright. They got a Spanish server which is fine, she was friendly but there’s a young black girl with attitude problem. If you want real Jamaican food just take the trip to Hartford because this is a watered down version. The place was clean though.

The hype is real. delicious, high quality Jamaican food, some of the best I've had since being on the island. Great prices, nice staff. My new go to Jamaican place.
