We've tried all the Asian places in town, this is the best, by a long shot. The portions are great, and the flavors perfect.

This place is fabulous. I have been here several times as one of the few authentic places anywhere near me (and yep, I have eaten Sichuan food in Sichuan).

This is not my first visit here, but it is my first review here. I have found out that the place has changed hands in late 2019. Now you know this is authentic. The menu is also written in Mandarin Chinese . There is a sizable food menu, but they have a very small drink menu and a limited beer (bottle only) and wine selection. The menu is mainly Sichuan, but there is normal takeout Chinese food too. They at least use a nice ceramic plate, metal fork and, of course, wooden, disposable chopsticks , but disposable napkins. For my first drink I'm having a "Scorpion Bowl" (a classic Chinese China drink) made with Don Q Gold Rum, Don Q White, Bacardi 151, gin, vodka and fruit juices. Anything else ?! I can't remember the last time I had one of these. But, it is yummy and not too strong . I did not know this, but Bacardi 151 is discontinued. For my first food item, I'm having the "Black Fungus" with spicy garlic . Now doesn't that sound appetizing? This is otherwise known as Cloud Ear fungus (Auricularia polytricha, syn. Hirneola polytricha) which is an edible jelly fungus. It grows on trees in mountainous regions, is gray-brown in color, and is often used in Asian cooking, especially Chinese cuisine. They marinate it in vinegar and serve it with small pieces of red pepper . Yep. This is very good ! The peppers have a little bite so watch out! It has an unusual texture. Next up, I am trying the "Bean Jelly" in a spicy vinaigrette (and topped with scallions). Nokdu-muk is a Korean muk, or jelly, made from mung bean starch. In its most commonly encountered form, it is also called cheongpo-muk, which literally means "clear froth jelly," owing to its clear white color. Wow ! This is a lot of good, is a bit spicy and very, very oily (warning: this cuisine uses chili oil very, very, very heavily so don't knock them for it!). Otherwise, it's quite good ! For my next drink, I'm having a "Zombie ‍ in Paradise" made with Bacardi Coconut Rum, Don Q Gold Rum, fruit juices and bitters (?). Ah. Bitter Truth aromatic bitters. I like them! Omg ! Look at that cool glass! The drink has a hint of coconut but otherwise tastes much stronger and is very similar to the Scorpion Bowl except much less sweet. I've just noticed they play IHart radio here. For my third item, and God help me, I'm having the "Chili Pepper and Preserved Egg ." These are really known as "Century eggs ."The server warned me that you either like this or you hate it. I'm still the one and only dine-in table since 4PM (two hours have gone by). The good news is that they have a decent takeout business. Ok. Well they smell like mussels and have an unusual aftertaste. The server says they serve it with cilantro . The green sauce (with the scallions garnishment) in the middle has kick ! Wow ! That was a bizarre dish. The egg yolk was purple! For my entree, under the Chef's ‍ Specials, I'm having the "Chef's ‍ Special Lamb Stew." Some of the more exotic ingredients I see include pig's feet and frog legs (neither of which I'm interested in). I just noticed they have a small, private banquet area on the back. For my last drink , I'm having a Mai Tai made with Don Q Gold Rum (like everything else; by the way, there are only 3 drinks available), Triple Sec, Amaretto, grenadine and fruit juices. This entree is very good ! Not spicy but the temperature is up there! It is bone in by the way. The broth is fantastic! The drink is good too. A little bit different. I would say it's the best so far. I like the balance of liquor and fruit juices. You have to love that glass! Time for dessert ! Now, these desserts are NOT very sweet. I am going to run through all 4 of them! First up is the "Small Rice Balls in Sweet Fermented Rice Soup." Fermented rice ?! This is new. Ok. This is hot , like egg drop soup from a texture perspective. It is a slightly sweet, made with goji berries (the red things floating on top). I have no idea

Love coming here for authentic Chinese food! Their menu has a variety of options from Americanized Chinese food (general tso chicken) to the legit Chinese food (spicy bean jelly, twice cooked pork, popcorn chicken, a choy...etc). The waiters are very attentive and friendly to your needs, just wish it was closer to the greater Hartford area.

Solid Sichuanese food on the east side of Hartford. I've been there a couple time a couple years apart and it has been great! There are so many authentic and delicious Sichuanese dishes. There were also some that were a bit off, although still delicious in its own way. I would come all the time if we lived closer and if my stomach can handle the spice.

Very good quality, nice service, normal price to mandarin Cusine.

Very disappointed. Wontons in soup were mushy, dumplings looked like store bought pot stickers. Saran Wrap around cashier as health barrier

We ordered takeout the other night to fulfill our cravings and have been meaning to check this place out. We were in the area and it was the perfect opportunity! Wonton soup: 4/5, the broth was exactly what I wanted. It had a lot of flavor built in and it wasn't over salted. The wontons itself were also pretty good, very meaty. Scallion pancakes: 4/5, exactly what we had expected although a little bit too greasy for my preference Sesame chicken: 4/5, exactly what we were expecting, wish there was some more broccoli. Chicken was well sauced and seasoned Ma Po Tofu: 4/5, a lot spicier than I was expecting, lots of leftovers since they gave us so much. We would go back if we were in the area
