Small place. My seat had a view of the kitchen - which wasn't dirty but not appetizing either. Food was basic, nothing special. I hope the expansion brings more room and maybe more authentic Italian food.

As an out-of-towner this was my first time visiting Michael's Trattoria, and it was a wonderful experience. The food was exceptional from beginning to end. Fresh baked bread is served warm with both olive and garlic, and butter. The salads were fresh and included a nice variety of spring greens, tomatoes, and chickpeas- and I would suggest trying their house vinaigrette. The Penne Alla Vodka was fantastic with perfectly cooked pasta, a sauce with the just the right balance of cream and zesty tomato, and a good amount of large, tender shrimp. The atmosphere is cozy with an elegant flair, and a nice mix of background music, including traditional Italian, and the service was friendly, and attentive. Highly recommended.

Nice intimate Italian restaurant. Very cozy and comfortable. Great atmosphere. The first thing they asked was if we had a showtime to make for the Oakdale. Wow! Thanks for asking and accommodating us! Salad with house dressing was fantastic. Had their Eggplant parmigiana and it was cut so thin with great sauce and cheese. Raviolis great!! All with plenty of Italian bread. We'll be back !

So I took my father-in-law out to dinner. He's elderly. He's in northford. I figured rather than take him all the way back to New Haven and drive back and forth we would try something up near him so we picked Michael's. It was okay. The place is run down a bit. It was extremely loud when we walked in, but we sat way to the right in the second dining room. If you're expecting a fine Italian dining experience, you're not going to get it. What you going to get is pretty good. Good friendly service, not polished, but friendly, attentive and quick. I suppose if you're looking for fine Italian dining, Wallingford is not the place to go anyway, but it was pretty good.

Nice white tablecloth sets the mood for a great mealI had the meatballs and we both had the clams, mussels and shrimp over linguine with a great white sauce. Service, food great. Can’t wait to go back and try a veal

Straightforward Italian fare with a great group of locals posted up. Stopped in during the daytime on our way North. Fried Calamari Sicilian Style - Spicy red sauce & tossed with hot peppers was the go-to order since I can't find it that way down here in ATX. Kelly at the bar is what sets places apart, hospitality coupled with scrumptious food. The Perfect combo!

Good food great people.Bar tender is awsome.Parking: Plenty of street parking. Plenty of lots in the area may have to walk a little but you are in the center of town.

I worked at Michael's when they first started. MICHAEL IS THE BEST CHEF I'VE EVER HAD THE PRIVILEGE OF WORKING FOR. Ivana and Ivanka Trump both ate there while Ivanka was at Choate academy . Alot of celebrities that were appearing at Oakdale would eat at Michael's ! I've always told people how great the food & atmosphere is . I have always had the highest respect for Michael and his family.!! If you love great food I highly recommend it.
