Fried whiting was Rubber texture and no seasoning. Nothing I had ordered had seasoning on it. Yellow rice was okay. The Yams were rubbery as well and very overly sweet. The cornbread was bread like wanted to look like cornbread. No flavor at all.

Babaayyyyy when I tell you I'm addicted, I'M ADDICTED! After the first time I ate here a month ago, I stopped cooking at home and buy this food about 2-3 times a week! So far, I've eaten jerk wings, oxtail, catfish, fried wings, Yams, Collard greens, Mac & cheese, and potato salad...yall know not everybody can cook certain dishes but NOTHING has disappointed me yet!To top it off all the staff are welcoming, pleasant, and professional! That's so rare nowadays.There aren't many soul food options in Waterbury and it's no problem now that I found this gem!

A few days ago I ate this restaurant and the lady couldn't have been more welcoming and friendly. I ordered myself baked chicken with Mac and yams, my wife the shrimp Mac and greens and my child wingettes with fries.The food overall was very good, and I can't believe I am just now finding out about this place has been here.Great food, great customer service and an excellent experience with this restaurant. I have lived in Waterbury for 7 years and this is easily the best soul food in Waterbury, and it's not even close. I will be back to to try their Sol bowls next.

Firstly when I walked in there was a lovely woman with one of the best attitudes I’ve ever seen in customer service. Unfortunately when I came home I had realized the chicken was undercooked, and potato salad had smelled like it went bad days ago. I will go again once to see if it was just an off day for the business.

Someone in that kitchen is from the south shrimp and grits 10/10 and yesterday I had the catfish Mac and cheese and green another 10/10
Stacey was an amazing hostess. The food was amazing. Especially the fried chicken it was fried to perfection. The sides were delicious as well the Yams, Mac & Cheese. She put her foot in the collard greens.
Food was excellent, definitely real soul food done right! I had fried chicken wings, Mac & cheese, collard greens, potato salad, rice and peas, candied yams…listen everybody can not make fried chicken, Mac & cheese, and potato salad but this food here was on point with seasoning and texture.
Stacey is a wonderful Hostess, beautiful spirit, great food, potato salad "da bomb," greens GR8. Good home cooked food.

I attended a event that was catered by Ms Stacie!! The food was presented beautifully and smelled delicious. The fried chicken wings were hot and seasoned perfectly. The greens, yams, Mac n cheese and potato salad was perfect. I come from a background of soul food cooks and everything was presented with class and love. Thankful for the opportunity to enjoy a delicious meal with new friends and family!
