By far the worst Jamaican food I’ve ever tasted. Visiting from the Bronx and I must say everything was HORRENDOUS! From the customer service down to the food. After standing at the counter for a few minutes, a female staff member came near the front from the back and proceeded to wash her hands without a greeting then returned to her phone call and/or texting and then disappeared. A different female finally approached and acknowledged us the counter without a greeting asking what we would like to order. Cabbage was only supposed to be omitted from one meal yet it was omitted from two. One meal should have been a small but we were given a medium.Once we ate the food I was disgusted. J*** chicken should be considered j*** chicken without sauce or gravy. With the right seasoning, you don’t need sauce. Also to place the sauce on the chicken without asking was annoying. Why not place it on the side or at least ask the customer? Nothing like Brooklyn or Queens j**** Definitely nothing like j*** from JA. To receive burnt, tough rice was the icing on the cake. The burnt rice pieces mixed within the rice was an insult. Not stepping foot back in here ever again and I mean it with a passion! Let all my friends and family know as well! Your hard earned money shouldn’t waste at a place like those!

Reasoning for the 3 star is simply because the rice/peas, cabbage and oxtail gravy was delicious. Now the oxtail itself was a bit tough and you must work to get it off the bone… On to customer service ?????? Slow and Rude are the two main things I can say… Not really a winner in my book and can’t say I would recommend patronizing this establishment to any other consumer…

The soup was phenomenal, tender oxtail. My husband truly enjoyed his j*** chicken. We drove from Bristol usually we go to Hartford but they have them a run for the money.

Food was amazing! The price was great for the amount of food. I am not Jamaican but from all the Jamaican food I've had, this was original. The lady was nice as well. My kids loved it.

If you are visiting anybody at St Mary's hospital, don't give in to all the chain restaurants. On the other side of that TJ Maxx plaza is East Main. Mickey's is right there in a pseudo-hood, but the place is nice and clean inside and the selection of Jamaican favorites are all there. And they have containers of their own branded soursop (guanabana) juice!
