I've been here twice and both times I've had a great experience. The drinks, service, and food all great. I've only had food on Grand Street but I've been told that the other location buffet is also great. The menu has many options a bit on the pricy side but there were some reasonable options for lunch. The food came out quick. It took a min for the drinks especially for around 1pm with not too many customers. Great place to sit and conversation with friends and coworkers. Would recommend.

I started going here once a week in October. Every time I am here the prices are reasonable and that is the exact reason I always return as frequently as I was. The rude service & mediocre at best food definitely isn’t what kept me coming back, but like I said - the prices were good and it was a great way to kill an hour locally.Tonight, I was charged $40 for two margaritas and two VERY BASIC tacos. The same thing I get every single week. At max, I pay $24-30 with tip. I’ve never seen the waitress tonight and she gave owner vibes in her hoodie and sneakers because when I questioned the price and clearly expressed dissatisfaction with the inconsistency in the price I’ve paid in the past, she walked away to return to her personal conversation behind the bar and didn’t have a care in the world as to how overcharged I felt. After MONTHS of coming here 3-4x+ a month, I will not return.

After a long day at court for work, I was absolutely famished. Luckily, my coworker had a fantastic idea - why not try this place that's conveniently within walking distance from the Waterbury courthouse? To my pleasant surprise, this Via al Paraiso is quite different from the one I usually go to, which actually has the same owner. While they don't offer the same ready-to-serve hot food options here, they do have a lovely menu to choose from. As soon as we walked in, we were quickly shown to our seats. And because I had a big tote filled with files, we were even given a bigger table just as we had requested. For our meal, we both decided to go with the el meson, and we also couldn't resist ordering a refreshing morir soñando, which is a delightful blend of orange juice and evaporated milk. And let me tell you, both dishes were absolutely scrumptious! I'll definitely be returning to this place the next time I have to be at court. It's a fantastic option for a satisfying meal, and I truly enjoyed my experience here.

First time I went here, I ordered breakfast, which seemed odd, as this place looks more like a nightspot for dinner and drinks, but breakfast was delicious! I just enjoyed dinner there with two others, before a show at the Palace. We ordered mofongo (!), a Cuban, and shrimp - all delicious! Highly recommended.

Came for dinner tonight and had an amazing experience! Great drinks and absolutely delicious meal options! The place is clean and elegant inside. Exceptional customer service. Visited from out of town but will definitely visit again when I return to the area! I did enjoy coffee and a muffin from here earlier this week.I came for work and we have a new office a few doors down so will definitely recommend to coworkers.Vegetarian options: Flatbread, vegetable soup, arroz con gandules, salads, steamed veggies, etc

8/27/23 My husband and I decided to eat at this restaurant downtown Waterbury. We went there after five pm. We usually purchase takeout from their sister restaurant on West Main Street which is very good but we decided to try something different. I had heard from my co-workers that the specials offered during the daytime were huge, My husband is big eater, so we decided to give it a try. When we went in and took a seat, one Waitress came to us immediately and greeted us and assisted us at our table. The place was VERY nicely decorated and the ambiance was great. I was very impressed and comfortable. We tried to order coffee as our first drink, but they do not offer regular coffee, so we both tried the espresso instead.(espresso is not usually something that I like) , but to my surprise it was delicious and we enjoyed it very much. I then, out of habit went to the restroom to wash my hands ( the bathroom was clean and newly decorated). Upon returning to our table, I noticed that the dark haired waitress was on her phone the whole time and didn’t look ? up from her phone. Anyways, back to the important stuff. We ordered the fried appetizer platter about $14.00, the seafood pasta dish $19.00, and the salmon $ 27.00.It didn’t take too long to get our food, and when it did come, I knew immediately that my husband’s dish ( salmon) wasn’t going to be enough for him. It looked like an appetizer. The dishes were well presented and looked like they came out of a gourmet kitchen, but for the price, no bueno. On the menu, it indicated that my seafood pasta had , shrimp, calamari, mussels, and lobster in it. I received three shrimp, lots of mussels, a couple of calamari pieces and I did not see or taste any lobster . The pasta had no taste. ( under seasoned) and it came with a couple of slices of Italian buttered bread. I was very disappointed. My husband said his salmon and yellow rice ( about a cup) was tasty, but , the mixed vegetables were undercooked( I took them home and added seasoning red, yellow, orange peppers and spinach) and tasteless. It was not worth the $27.00. Also, our appetizer never came. While we were dining, I noticed that the two waitresses were obsessed with touching their hair every second uggh gross ?. When serving food, you should keep your hands out of your hair.I don’t want any business to do poorly, especially an up and coming restaurant, but this will be our only and last visit to this place. Oh yeah, we left this restaurant and we placed a takeout order at another restaurant( reviews on that restaurant later) for my husband to get something to eat. We will stick to their sister restaurant on West Main Street. Double the food , flavor , and choices. Also don’t try to order lunch from here if you don’t speak Spanish. Co- worker kept getting hung up on because no one working the lunch schedule spoke any English and couldn’t communicate with him to take his order.
