Well, we took long enough to give it a shot since they've been open 8 months. This place is a gem on so many levels. Generous and delicious portions, great ambiance and best of all - reasonably priced.

French restaurant in a chic space where there are both no reservations and no cash accepted The menu is kind of strange, as it is comprised of a few different variations of a few eclectic options. For example, you could order one of three variations of their stews, flatbreads, or grilled cheeses, or you could also order a whole roast chicken. The service was a little slow, but the servers were very friendly A little on the pricer side My dad and I ordered a flatbread and a sandwhich. It was all solid, but nothing blew us away

LOVED the clarified milk punch and Pinnacle cocktails, the small cheese board was cute and delicious. Great fries and gnocchi. The fig pastry/flatbread thing was a miss though. I don't think the crust was cooked all the way, the prosciutto was cut too thick, and it was overflowing with the fig, way too much. Definitely would be back though to try other things on the menu! Also lovely atmosphere, but bar stools are not comfortable.

I'm struggling to give this a 3 or 4 star review but I decided on a 3 because overall experience wasn't great. First off, they are one of if not the only place around the area that doesn't take reservations so it's a gamble going there since it's fairly small. It was freezing out this particular Saturday night two weeks ago and we walked to the front only to see a sign for "winter only entrance" directing us towards the back of the restaurant. Once in you then walk by the kitchen which is awkward and get to the hostess stand which is awkwardly in between tables and the bar to put your name in. So we put our name in and they said a table would be ready in about 40 minutes. Checked out the bar area but it is very compact. Seats aren't spaced out and the area in front of you to eat is small as well. People at the bar appear to be on top of each other. We left out the back, walked across the street and they called us that our table was ready ten minutes later. Ok. Walk back in the cold to back, finally sit down. Ready for a drink at this point. Menu strange to me. Rotisserie chicken, stews in a pot they were carrying around everywhere lol, and tinned fish. I struggled to pick something. Ended up with the "sandwich" under Le Sandwich. I didn't want the brioche bun so they put greens on the side of like a slop of chicken with a smear of sauce. Terrible presentation. Very tasty but I was also super hungry. No bread with dinner. I honestly don't know what else I would have ordered though. Maybe a salad. The rotisserie chickens I saw were ENORMOUS. Dessert was good. Had the ice cream Sando. Creative dessert. Croissant with arethusa's sweet chip ice cream inside. Asked for hot fudge on top. Could have put more on. Again, very tasty. Food tasted very good but again, overall experience not great.

Good for happy hour but I struggle being a long-time Avert fan. We split the chicken (did not jump off the page) and the carpaccio. The bread/toast points could have been the best part though. I'd like to explore the menu a bit more and try some of the sandwiches and the preservatives including oysters, pates, caviars. Very friendly bartender and a really nice atmosphere.

Food was overly salty. I'll give it a three because everything BESIDES the ROTISSERIE CHICKEN was just okay. The Rotisserie Chicken was amazing though. The service was good, and our server was friendly. But, on top of the fact that they don't accept reservations, the place was overcrowded with ppl standing around behind us while we ate. The atmosphere was totally overwhelming. Would order the chicken on takeout.

Gotten take away from here a couple of times and really enjoy the food. Normally go for the roasted chicken, assorted vegetables, and the beef stew. Really enjoy all of it as it has good flavor and very filling. Would love to one time try indoors but do recommend the food

Food is excellent and reasonably priced. Anything chicken related is A+ and the coq au vin is delightful. I really like a solid wine list and even their house by the glass selection is very good. Service can be a bit slow at times, but the food always comes out nice and hot as they bring out dishes as they are ready which means your table may get their entrees at different times. Love that they have continued the relationship with Arethusa and offer a nice simple ice cream sundae as dessert and more inventive options. Can get quite busy and they don't accept reservations so plan accordingly.

Finally got to check out Le Mazet. They don't take reservations and usually it's mobbed so we just make backup reservations elsewhere. Happy to say it was worth the wait and continued attempts. I get salmon quite a lot lately when dining out on Saturday nights. I don't make it home once a week like I used to. The salmon and veggies are cooked in parchment paper which is obviously unique and it was so delicious. Wonderfully seasoned salmon on top of lemon slices, potatoes and green beans with a mashed up olive base. I could eat this every night (aside from the threat of increased mercury). If you go with a party there's tons of family style options. The bowls of fries were enormous. Shared some of the Chef Joe's ice cream sando with my girlfriend, which is a creative sandwich of Arethusa ice cream inside of a nicely cooked croissant. Super yummy. Be aware. You must enter through the back during winter and no cash, cards only. You can sit at the bar if you don't want to wait for a table but it's super tight. Worth the time to get proper seating.
