Our waitress was one of the sweetest people I have ever met. Extremely attentive. Food came out quickly and the bowls kept everything piping hot for a long time! Food was good- my only suggestion is that if you are vegan/have food restrictions you need to be very specific. Was told my food was vegan but came with a soft boiled egg- however, they were very efficient at getting me a fresh dish.

Very delicious authentic Korean food! Tteokbokki is very well made, shrimp tempura is light and crispy, general korean side dishes are provided! I definitely ordered too much since everything looked so good, bibimbap was delicious as well but I had to take it home, as I ordered too much. Service was very personal, the kind that makes you feel at home. The ambiance is comfortable. My only complaint is since the tables have hot plates for Korean bbq under the table has some taken up space. it is hard to adjust your footing if you have larger feet haha. Overall an amazing place and I can't wait to go back!

The restaurant has a laid back atmosphere even though it is well lite inside with white countertops. The Korean cuisine I tried was fried chicken with spicy garlic sauce. The service was prompt and they even gave recommendations on how to best enjoy the dish with the spread that was brought to the table.

TLDR: very friendly service, tables are packed together, super casual atmosphere, tasty Korean food. They do not accept AMEX or Discover.I went here as a solo diner on a Friday afternoon, around 1PM. The place is a lot more casual than expected which isn't a bad thing, just not what I thought it would be. The restaurant is split into two sections, one with tabletop bbq grills and other side with bar seating where you can see the sushi being made and a few tables beyond the bar seating. I didn't really like that set up as I thought the tables with the grills were so close together. I was seated at the tables with the grills. The banchan was good, although I did not eat the mushrooms and broccoli. Not the best banchan I had but definitely not the worse.I ordered a kimchi pancake as a starter. I thought it was a little over fried but based on pictures I have seen this is the way they do it. It was tasty. I didn't finish it as I wanted to leave room for my main dish.I ordered the Beef Soon tofu aka Spicy Beef Tofu Soup, mildly spicy. I was disappointed that they didn't have a pork option as this is my favorite. It came out sizzling. I had forgot to ask for no egg and I was dismayed to see that they had already put the raw egg in. Each time I have ever ordered Spicy Tofu Soup, the egg has always come on the side. No matter, I fished out the raw egg out and proceeded to eat the soup, which came with a side of white rice. It was tasty. They do not accept AMEX or Discover. I think this should be noted on the website but for some reason it's not.The service was very friendly and attentive. I would return here again to try more dishes.

i’ve already been here about 5 or 6 times now, once with family for my birthday, once with a friend for lunch, and a few other times for lunch and dinner, every time the food and customer service have been great, they even remember my name now and i’ve spoken a bit of korean with employees, great times. The jjajangmyeon, kimchi jjigae, tangsuyuk, gyeran jjim, doenjang jjigae, tonkatsu, and japchae are all delicious choices, id like to try everything on the menu, I 100% recommend this placeVegetarian options: you can order many things on the menu that are already meatless or just ask for a dish to be made without meat

Excellent Service from the second we walked through the door. They greeted us right away and sat us down by the sushi bar. It was the only table in that space. They made us feel welcomed, and like VIP’s. John the Sushi chef gave us fresh sashimi salmon on the house, followed by Korean chicken wings which was Amazing, along with fried ice cream- the best I have ever eaten. My husband ordered the BBQ Ribs (B5) # on the menu I recall correctly. His dish came with a lot of little different condiments and fresh lettuce leaf’s. Our waiter showed him the right way to eat his entree. It was delicious! I ordered the R1( rice bowl with veggies and beef). It came in a hot bowl. I ate the whole dish. This is a hidden gem in West New Haven. I cannot say enough great things about the staff, service and food. You have to go experience DA.WA for yourself.

Great food, the waitress was very helpful in clarifying dishes my family and I were not familiar with, and the customary ways to eat/enjoy the food (mix the whole bowl with the sauce!) Delicious. For me, just the right amount of spicy (not too hot)Vegetarian options: Much of the food is vegetarian, but may need to ask if fish oil is being used on some of the dishes that appear to be vegetarian just to be sureParking: The parking lot is in front of the restaurant
