The hype is real.Tonight I tried Moby Dick’s and yes, all the good things said by people seem to be very true.I've only recently started trying more and more seafood but didn't want to get too adventurous without my wife as a safety net given how pricey it is, but i will say out of the crab cakes I have had, these were easily the best. Wow.Now the real test of a restaurant, however, is how good the food is that doesn't fall under the umbrella of their main cuisine. I got the steak frites and yes - perfectly cooked, deliciously seasoned and a good FRESH quality sourced cut of beef as far as my taste buds could tell.If I had to nitpick I would say the fries could have been a little crisper and without as much salt, but I got take out so the first part of that is a little unfair as everyone knows fries need to be eaten immediately no matter where you go.Regardless, I am happy with my solo meal tonight and look forward to checking them out again!

Been here 2x and staff and owner remembered us from our first brief visit. Both times we were impressed by not only the food and service, but by the clean and comfortable atmosphere and the genuine engagement from the staff. They really care about their business, staff and guests. Top notch all around. A new favorite for us!

Excellent oysters on the half shell. It's more like a small tavern with limited high top seating and a VERY boisterous atmosphere on a Friday in the hours leading up to happy hour. The food was fantastic and the manager (owner, host?) is a VERY friendly, sociable guy who tossed a few free samples our way. Would definitely go again if I were going out with a group of friends (not my father who I don't see regularly) and I were in the area. I didn't sample their drink menu but everyone who did seemed pleased with their orders and their mixed drinks sounded amazing. A definite must in the summer, I'd imagine.We got a take home order for my husband and he was upset he didn't play hooky for the experience. He LOVED the crab cakes.

Food is fantastic, service is phenomenal. The manager is INSUFFERABLE. If you wanna sit down to dinner just to overhear who is HOT and who is NOT at an arrogant manager’s top vocal range and volume, please feel free to come in. When the manager isn’t there, it is the perfect, intimate hang out spot in West Haven. The manager could quickly ruin your appetite. So if you hear him from down the block, get your order to go. Come back when he is gone. As someone who wants to love this place, I suggest the owner wise up and keep his voice down or steer clear and let his amazing staff run the place. Alternately he could keep his conversations Patron friendly but that seems less likely.

We stopped in right as Mobys was opening today !! Phenomenal service , amazing food , and by far the best espresso martini I’ve had !!!! We will sure be back !!!!

Had a wonderful lunch for my birthday with my daughter..lol what a fabulous time talking with the locals.. it was quiet but so fun.. thanks to Eddie and the wonderful cook.... great local meeting place.. friendly and fun.. thank

I went here today to try their new menu and everything was so fresh and so delicious !! The owner and staff were so friendly too!! If you love seafood I highly recommend trying this spot out!!! The oysters and lobsters are fantastic!!

Creative twist on New England Seafood experience. Unique approach in a " pub ; like warm neighborhood atmosphere.
Went last night for the 1st time. Flatbread, soup, dinner and cheesecake. Everything was excellent. Owner spent time chatting with us and the staff was very personable. Very small inside but a great atmosphere. Definately will be going back soon

First time trying the food. The owner is very friendly and the bartender was attentive. The atmosphere is cozy and it smells amazing. My order consisted of the shrimp scampi flatbread and a caesar salad with meatballs. Both dishes were flavored and cooked well. I’d love to dine in next time.
