I don't usually give immediate 5 star reviews but when it comes to United China there's not one bad thing I can say. They are the example to follow. Always a pleasant experience. Food is delicious, fresh, and most importantly consistent. Being someone that's been eating American/Chinese food for practically my whole life, there's a reason it's been in the same location since the 80's and most likely won't be going anywhere soon. The owner gives the best service I've ever had in what's mainly now (after covid) more of a takeout establishment. She's always friendly & extremely polite. As far as the inside, it's always exceptionally clean which adds that much more to the overall ambiance/environment & trust that a lot seem to forget about in other kitchens, (sorry mom!) With that being said, I drive 20 min atleast once or twice a week from my hometown whenever I get my cravings for some chicken & broccoli/General Tso's chicken! Thank you United China! You're the best!

Once upon a time, this Chinese restaurant held a special place in my heart. I was a loyal customer, visiting at least once a week to indulge in their delectable dishes. However, my unwavering loyalty was shattered when an incident of gross dishonesty unfolded before my eyes, forever tarnishing my perception of this once-favorite establishment. During a recent visit, my excitement quickly turned to dismay when I discovered a repulsive hair lurking within my food. It was an appalling sight that instantly ruined my appetite and shattered my trust in this restaurant's commitment to cleanliness and customer satisfaction. I promptly approached the lady who served me, hoping for a swift resolution to this unsettling discovery. To my utter disbelief, the staff member, in a blatant display of deception, tried to convince me that the hair was not what it clearly appeared to be. With a practiced sleight of hand, she deftly removed the hair and shamelessly insisted that it was, in fact, "broccoli sauce." This absurd claim was an insult to my intelligence and a disgraceful attempt to avoid taking responsibility for their glaring mistake.As someone who once held this restaurant in high regard, I was deeply disappointed by this disheartening display of dishonesty. This incident shattered the trust I had placed in the establishment, leaving me unable to overlook such a breach of integrity. It is disheartening to witness a once-beloved restaurant resort to such desperate measures to evade accountability for their mistakes. Regrettably, this episode has forced me to reevaluate my patronage and ultimately come to the painful decision that I can never return to this restaurant. The betrayal of trust and the lack of accountability displayed by the staff has irreparably damaged the bond I once shared with this establishment. No longer can I consider it a reliable and safe place to enjoy a satisfying meal. To prospective diners, I caution against placing your trust in a restaurant that would stoop to such dishonesty. While my previous experiences may have been positive, this incident has revealed a darker side to this establishment's operations. It is clear that their commitment to customer satisfaction and maintaining hygiene standards has been compromised. In conclusion, I sadly bid farewell to what was once my favorite Chinese restaurant. The hair in my food incident and the subsequent denial from the staff have shattered my faith in their integrity and left me with a bitter taste in my mouth. I implore you to seek out other establishments that prioritize honesty, transparency, and the well-being of their patrons.

Just moved out to West Haven from NYC so i was skeptical about trying this spot but the food was amazing, the chicken was moist, broccoli fresh, not greasy 10/10 would recommend, definitely going back

Pretty much your standard Chinese food here. It's quite good and fairly priced. Staff are not overly friendly but OK and prompt. Parking is a bit dicey but the food is tasty.
Just moved out to West Haven from NYC so i was skeptical about trying this spot but the food was amazing, the chicken was moist, broccoli fresh, not greasy 10/10 would recommend, definitely going back

Have ordered Before and food is so so. Good enough to reorder late when it's one of the only things open. Tonight I decided to order as it's close by and one of the only things open after I got off of work. However online they are listed as open until 10:45 or 10:30 on some websites. So when I called at 10:02 after getting off of work I at least expected an answer. I called 4 times. The first they let ring and the other 3 they declined or answered and never spoke. The bare minimum they could have done was answer the phone and say they were no longer taking orders. Completely unprofessional and disrespectful.
