This is the absolute best pub food you can find anywhere. The atmosphere is unique and inviting and the staff goes out of their way to be accommodating. Seriously. Best food, best beer selection, amazing staff.

Been going to this place my whole life. Always a great neighborhood bar with friendly faces and solid bar food with live music. Sadly, under new ownership I've never been treated so badly. The bouncer should be fired right away. He got physical both times pushing his body against patrons (both women and men) to force them out of a corner of the bar after having ordered and later screaming and threatening to call the cops- for what?!? We are 50 something patrons that were respectful paying customers. It's pretty simple, provide a kind warning of the bar closing and then ask nicely for people to leave. There is NO REASON to get physical or be rude. Do better or lose your neighborhood patrons who make this place what it is. Also no contact names on the website. I'd like to speak with the manager or owner. Totally shook by the last two experiences and fear it may end badly for the next person in this guy's path. He's totally unhinged.

We hosted a private party here yesterday and Terry, the manager, was beyond incredible! I work in the restaurant industry, so I truly appreciate when the level of service is exceptional! They closed the restaurant down for us, provided a band that was so good that they should be recording their own albums (Green Eyed Lady), offered top shelf open bar, and a buffet featuring all the fun bar food the Black Duck is known for...all at a reasonable price. The staff was warm, attentive, and professional. You need to be prepared that the ambience is that of a dive bar, which is what I expected and wanted ....not fancy, with crooked floors, and no frills. That being said, I would book another event at the Black Duck in a heartbeat!

It was the only place that we could think of for my birthday at the last minute. Of the four of us, my birthday was the night we were there, and another guest at the table was celebrating her birthday the next day. We made this clear to the server. Not even a scoop of ice cream was delivered to our table to celebrate. Before ordering, I asked the server for her opinion of the wings and she said she loved them and recommended getting them broiled, so I ordered two dozen wings so that I could bring some home for leftovers. They were burned. I also ordered flats only. There were lots of drums. I hate drums. No one asked how we liked our food. No one helped us figure out how to put all of the food we ordered on our table. We ordered nachos for the table and there was absolutely no place to put them. There were two servers and we were the only table being served the rest of the place was empty. However, it was on us to figure out what to do.I won’t be back.

This place is perfect for getting a burger and watching sports on tv. They also have live music on certain nights. The locals tend to hog the bar so get there early to secure your bar seats. Bartenders are very attentive!

Came for thanksgiving eve. Had a table reserved inside yet bouncer was not letting people in. Horrible for business. As an owner I would have hated to miss out on the business that was turned away.85 capacity. So be aware if you ever want to come here!

An icon establishment in the area. Part dive bar part comfort food seller part local entertainment spot. It is a classic with a warm welcome.

As someone who has been coming here for 20 years, I have to say I have become disappointed with this place. I just came here the night after Thanksgiving, and, given the years this place has been open, I truly can’t understand why this place couldn’t get it together tonight, knowing what it’s like every year. Had a party of eleven split into two tables and we were visited every 45 minutes by the waitress and the food just sucked. Missed in every sense of the word. Ordered vegetarian nachos and it came an hour later covered in chili so we were just laughing. We will still keep coming back because it is the Duck but dear god get it together
