We love Viva Zapata!!! Always stop on the way to visit grandparents in CT from NYC. Best ground beef tacos around and excellent kid's chicken fingers. Delicious margaritas and cute outdoor patio in summer months. Seasoned staff make you feel welcome -- definitely worth a try if in the Westport area!!!

The food had completley fallen off — such a shame cause this place used to be a Westport staple! Hope they wake up!

We didn’t order food. We were hoping for better margaritas than just using a mix. Good atmosphere.

Food was good, Margherita's were very good, strong, Atmosphere was disappointing, no music, should be festive.

Still the BEST nachos ever! So happy to be living back in Westport so I can have them again.

Heard that this was place was really good but it was super mediocre. Drink menu is lacking and food is just okay. They don't have any AC on in the summer, so not only hot and sticky from the weather, but from the uncleared sugary spills as well. Wouldn't come back.

We used to love this place, in the 80's then I moved away. Tried to go during a recent visit but it's never open anymore for lunch.

Amazing atmosphere for fun, good music lots of people come here to have a nice meal or relax. Famous for margaritas but their quesadillas are awesome too. Grilled chicken sandwiches and burgers are a good bar / pub meal too. Fun all around. Get chips and guacamole they don’t skimp! Good quality food and fun atmosphere all around.Vegetarian options: Quesadillas can be without meat! Otherwise get rice and beans and guacamoleKid-friendliness: Fine for kids to eat at too if you are not in the bar.

still as good as ever, pricy but worth it, especially when you know they're raising the price mostly to stay afloat. Worth it at probably 1.2x the price. tip more to make up the difference.you'll need to destroy town property values to find a better deal in Westport for a similar level of craft, and god knows the town needs it. Pay the 20$. buy the fajitas. if you can't eat gluten they'll sub in corn tortilla no problem. Get the fajitas.Great outdoor seating. Giant open-top patio with seating where your can eavesdrop easily but still have plenty of elbow room. Heat lamps, table umbrellas. They've been doing this for like fifty years now, they know what's up.cyclists: no bike parking, all the street signs are wobbly because the town doesn't believe in paying for things like proper sign bedding. if the restaurant to the left still has outdoor seating, there are concrete barriers you can run a chain through and then U lock to it. slim pickings otherwise. You might be able to find somewhere to lock over where bridge market used to be, the railings near the bridge.final say: casual restaurant-dining you could wear a suit to if you just came from the train station, but I'll definitely give you the side eye. Have seen at least one municipal meeting happen here in the past ten years. Town staple, regional stop, a thing someone I know remembered and came back to after being gone for ten years.you can get more for the price in one of the nearby cities, but you can't really get better until maybe that venezuelan place in norwalk on the stamford side with a similar vibe about really caring about their food. the fajita chicken is just as confusingly moist and tender as it was like fifteen years ago i promise it's worth the extra 5$Vegetarian options: it's Mexican food there's plenty of vegetarian stuff.if your vegan i have no idea if the beans or rice have chicken broth or lard but I'm going to say "yes", call first your server may not knowParking: there's like nine spots in the back and maybe a second lot behind that. if you cant find any there go park in the lot to the left.Dietary restrictions: I'm celiac, a lot of the smaller wheat tortilla based dishes can have corn tortillas subbed in, but big tortilla dishes like burritos cannot, of course.

7.1.23 what a fun place! We loved the decor, the casual atmosphere, the good service and the great food. Our 1st visit and we enjoyed sitting back, people watching, while munching on great Mexican food and margaritas.

The lettuce wrap street tacos were delicious! Corn was good too - maybe a bit too much mayo tho. Salsa that came with the free chips was ?

I was going to Viva in the early '80s when the entire world was different than it is now. I was here in January 2023 and our party ordered the nachos. I thought the kitchen was having a bad day because the food was pretty lousy. I came back 6/8/23 for a couple of Margaritas, which were good and my friend & I ordered the large nacho platter with ground beef. That was just what it was-chips, cheese, ground beef with a little pool of refried beans. No jalapenos, onions, tomatoes, chives, sour cream, salsa-NOTHING. I rated this a "2" because of the drinks. This food was HORRENDOUS- NEVER again; I work half a mile up the road from this place and I will spread the plain truth about it.
