Chips is a decent restaurant. I have only had breakfast here but have been a few times. This is your standard breakfast place, there are no special exotic dishes or fancy items just your typical normal food items. The place is pretty clean and large enough to accommodate many people so wait times are pretty good especially during weekends. Prices are a little high for breakfast and thats probably the main reason I will stick to diners or Denny's over them.

This is a family friendly breakfast place with hands down the best pancakes in state of CT!

Unfortunately I am sadden how this place has gone down in food quality and cleanliness. I remember when this place opened they were booming, lines out the door and they were able to serve good quality food and kept the place cleaned. I just went back with my family and I was disappointed with the cleanliness of the table, condiment caddy on the table was filthy, and the glass behind the coffee machines was dirty. The food was not good at all, we didn't even drink the sodas because they had a dirty taste. In conclusion I'm not sure what happened to this place compared to a few years back and if this is how they keep the dining room I can't imagine the conditions in the kitchen. In the end I will never come back.

Arrived at 3pm found out they were closing at 4pm. Website says 9. Put in a Togo order in addition to our food order when we sat down at 3, they shut the grill off at 340 when the server went to put in the Togo. Never offered a box. Half of our order was incorrect, items we did not want were served. Not please with the quality of service.

Went here for dinner, the food was alright but nothing special, not many menu choices for dinner. The atmosphere is severely lacking however; Way too bright in there with too many lights, and it shows the stained carpet and worn tables. It feels a bit too open and condensed with tables, makes you feel like everyone’s starring at you. Waiter was friendly, but he seemed rushed. Overall not a bad experience, but I don’t think I go back unless someone brought me there.

I recently dined at Chips and it wasn’t the best experience. When my party and I first arrived the greeting we received from the host was very “blah,” as if he didn’t want to attend to us. Once we were seated I noticed the cleanliness of the establishment was poorly kept. When we received our food, I noticed there was something that resembled mold on the inside of our syrup bottle. Once it was brought to our waiters attention he proceeded to act as if it wasn’t a big deal and tried to replace our syrup with the one from the adjacent table. Said bottle was covered in syrup and had an individuals hair hanging from it. My visit was very unpleasant, and all could have been solved if the establishment upheld its cleanliness, and the employees were more personable.

I ate there for the first time today 18-Feb-2022. I wanted a breakfast combo, they had a 2x2x2x2x2, eggs, pancakes, bacon, sausage, toast for $14.00. To me that was more food than I wanted. Instead I ordered 2 pancakes, 2 eggs and 2 sausage with coffee. I was very surprised to see that my bill after taxes was $20.00 and change. The food was good, zero complaints. The coffee refills were slow throughout. The layout was nothing unusual except that this restaurant doesn't have a counter. I won't eat there again. Just too expensive for me.

My friend and I have been to Chip's before and the food during that trip was pretty good. We both got omelets with a side of pancakes. Big portion and prices were reasonable. The only downside to that was the 45 min wait to get in. However, we were very disappointed with our second trip. I ordered a short stack of the Patriotic pancakes (pancakes topped with fresh fruit) with a side of Canadian bacon. The total for my meal was around $17. Normally I don't complain about price if you're getting what you pay for, but this was a little much. I had 3 pancakes topped with some blueberries/bananas/strawberries, and 2 pieces of Canadian bacon, which was definitely not worth $17 and not THAT good. Staff has been friendly each time we visited, so can't complain about that! I don't think we will be returning anytime soon since the price of food is definitely too high for what you are receiving.

My client was not happy with the quality of the pastrami on her sandwich. Despite telling them how our the quality was, they did NOTHING to accommodate her bad experience. They didn't even offer to take her coffee off the bill. Very poor way to address the situation. Not going back

Visited for the first time and was not disappointed. The service was fast and friendly. We ordered two omelettes. The regular one (don’t remember the name) came out very good. The egg white with spinach was a bit watery and lack of flavor. Will come back again to try their pancakes.

Maybe it's just takeout but this was really mediocre and bland. Very plain, not a ton of flavor in either item. Maybe we would try again once we are eating indoors again but didn't get the friendliest vibe at pickup and the food was bleh so this is likely a pass for us. It's unfortunate as it's so close to where we errand run all the time!

We stopped here on the way home and thought it was going to be great because it was jam packed with a 15min wait. We were disappointed though because the service was lacking and the food was only so-so. There was syrup on the table so when the server took our drink order we asked for a cloth to wipe it up, we asked again when he brought the drinks and took our order. We waited a long time for him to come back. Eventually he came back with our food, which we could tell had been sitting under the heat lamp a long time because the plates were so hot you couldn't touch them and he had to use a towel to bring them over. We asked a third time for the cloth, he said he would bring it over along with our pancakes and my English muffin. He came back with the pancakes but no cloth... he reminded himself and then came back a minute later with my English muffin and a damp napkin... maybe he was new, but he wasn't very attentive. The food was ok, bacon was better than you get at a diner, and eggs were good too, but the pancakes were tough and mine came with a raspberry puree that was more like raspberry juice and ice cold, which I didn't realize until I dumped it on my pancakes. My English muffin came out without any butter and I had to ask for jam. My mother couldn't even eat her toast because it was cold and hard. It was also about $20 more expensive than the diners we had eaten at previously on the trip and not really worth it.

Went with my family and got one of the breakfast feasts that feed a lot of people. The food was delicious, our waitress was very pleasant & the price good. Would recommend. However I wish the different food platters had serving utensils. Would definitely go back.
