Every chance I get, I make it a point to eat at Lucky Lou's Bar and Grill. The ambiance, cuisine, and team are all exceptional. Plus, they offer the finest patio seating in the area. It's an excellent spot for lunch, dinner, or just a couple of drinks.

Food is fine, but way overpriced. Nothing on the menu was especially tasty. The "giant" meatball appetizers were very average in size. Grilled octopus was dry. Portion sizes were small (the fish and chips came with 2 small pieces and a half-filled small metal cup of fries). $4 for a soda, and they charge separately for every refill. On top of it all, automatic 25% gratuity for parties of 6 or more (I've seen 20% for this, but 25% seems excessive). It ended up costing $50/person and we didn't even order alcohol. I know times are tough for businesses right now, but eating here felt like being nickel and dime-ed for a small amount of mediocre food.

Never a complaint! The crew and particularly Lou are very friendly. Food is great. The best nachos ever and I’ve been around the block.Patio dining is second to none. A must destination.

Really cool place for dinner (or, I imagine lunch) in an historic home in Old Wethersfield. My group were seated upstairs in a room with a few other tables. There's a country inn vibe (because you're in a house) but the food and drinks are sophisticated. One friend enjoyed a spicy margarita and the rest of us picked from the local beers on tap. I ordered fish and chips and it was perfectly crisp; the fish was fresh and light. Our server was friendly and came back a couple times to take additional drink orders and clear plates. With drinks, apps and entrees - it's not a cheap night out, but worth it. We plan to head back in warmer weather to sit on the patio and enjoy live music.

I suppose there are those who can be fooled into thinking what they are paying for is what they are getting, but here it's not very good. It is, however, very overpriced. The food is bland, in my opinion, poorly constructed recipes from an old cooking mentality that just has too far to reach before it can be called quisine. I'm sure this is why they do not publish a menu on their own page or website, and rely on outdated photos of menus to lure people into the run down old building, only to be waited on by unknowlegeable waitstaff with no manners. They snub anyone who questions their unreasonable pricing, but lack of value here is simply just that, LACK OF VALUE. Also, why do no drink prices be listed anywhere in the restaurant. ITS BECAUSE YOU WILL FALL OFF YOUR CHAIR WHEN YOU REALIZE WHAT THEY ARE ACTUALLY CHARGING. They gave us a complimentary piece of cake after we voiced our opinion, but it fell short, as our concerns really fell on pompous, deaf ears. And the container leaked, so now I have to have my upolstery cleaned! Unfortunately, I don't see this downtown restaurant having any success when run this way.

Went with a small group for dinner. Staff friendly and nice atmosphere. Everyone loved their meals which were freshly prepared and served quickly. Made reservations and arrived on time. We were a party of 14 and seated immediatly. Food and Service was phenomenal. Only drawback was we were told kitchen was busy with order there would be a delay in our orders. Arrived at 2pm nachos and entrees served at same time. Graditude included with check and no modification for delay of an hour before food is unreasonable if we had time restrictive plans they would of had to be canceled. Atmosphere is comfortable, friendly staff, great food.
We called to make a reservation for a party of 10. When we arrived the owner Lou informed us they didn’t take reservation but would accommodate us. It took over 2 hours to received our food. The waitress apologized for the long delay stating they were busy. We ask to speak with Lou but was told he was busy with customers. After paying our bill we went outside and ask Lou for 2 minutes of his time. He avoided us stating that he was with customers. We reminded him that we are his customers but he refused to talk to us.
