i’ve lived in Windsor my whole life and I’m ashamed that I’m just now finding this gem. The other shops in the area are so greasy and the tomato sauce is so robust and disgusting. I absolutely love this pizza, the crust is to die for is my favorite part. Please don’t ever change the recipe.??

Always good, always friendly. And their sauce is just a bit different than others, in a good way.

Local family pizza spot. Always a good pie. Thin crust, sometimes a little soggy in the center. Great sauce and toppings galore.

So it’s official. I now live in Windsor. Do they call people who live in Windsor, Windsorites? I’m not sure, but regardless, I live here now and it’s time to try one of the local pizza joints.Tonight I ordered a small Hawaiian pizza from Family Pizzeria located at 181 Broad St. The phone in order for pick up was as easy as it gets. Your order, your name, phone number and when it’s going to be ready. In this case, 20 mins. When I entered 20 minutes later, sure enough there was a small Hawaiian pizza ready for me. Payment was simple and quick, and I headed home to enjoy my pizza.Opening the box revealed exactly what I ordered, a small pizza with ham, bacon and pineapple. (Yes I’m one of those people that like pineapple on my pizza and there’s nothing you can do about it). The crust looked good and the cheese was evenly melted. Now before I describe how it tasted let me set a few expectation markers so we are all on the same page. I moved here from Milford, CT. Milford is fairly close to New Haven. We all know what the pizza scene is like in New Haven. It’s amazing. Even the pizza joints in Milford are usually well above par. If I wanted the best pizza I’ve ever had in my life I’d be ordering from a pizza place on Wooster St. This is not Wooster St. It’s Broad St. in downtown Windsor. So here we go.Other than a few critiques, the pizza was good. The best part was the crust. I liked how it wasn’t too thin. It could have had a slightly better char on it but it was still good. The sauce was a little sweet, but fine none the less. And I think I’ll modify the toppings to pepperoni and pineapple instead of bacon and ham for my next order. The combination was fine but a bit too salty. The first thing this pizza said to me was “Ham”. It should have said “Caio”.All in all Family Pizzeria served me a good pizza at a reasonable price that met my expectations. If you’re in the area, or a fellow Windsorite(?), Family Pizzeria is worth giving a try.

I was walking the town center and had been told that pizza in Connecticut is good, stopped in for a small pizza. I usually prefer a thin-crust Neopolitano, but was not disappointed in the thick crust Mediterranean pizza from Family Pizzeria. The sauce was a bit garlicky that made the day. The red onions were just crisp enough, and the feta cheese and broccoli went together well with the tomatoes. All in all, a contented and full belly customer and a positive impression of both Windsor town center and Family Pizzeria. Atmosphere is take out and on a warmer day, a table outside to eat. Otherwise, take it home or somewhere warm and cozy to enjoy.

little to no meat on sandwiches. the 12" is only one inch bigger than the 8" but $3+ more expensive. disgusting ingredients taste like they are four days old. over priced for the quality.

Not the place for grinders... the large meatball grinder came w 2 medium meatballs sliced in half. The chicken parm was just a chicken tender w red sauce and cheese.

Worse pizza I’ve ever eaten. If your debating about getting pizza from here run!!! I got a large cheese pizza and I ended up taking one bite and threw it in the garbage.

A little hole in the wall pizzeria that is priced VERY fairly and you get an ACTUAL large pizza!!!! Thick crust and their sauce isn't too sweet but it's not spicy. I'm not a big fan of crust but theirs is pretty good. Not too much sauce either but not too little and the cheese is always perfectly melty.
