“Owned and operated by a gentle couple, who's always eager to greet you. Showing some love by promoting this small business.”
“By far one of the best BLT (and A) I've had! Could always add more Avocado though Got through the line quickly with no problems checking out. Staff were pleasant. Place was busy but able to get a table after other customers left. Fountain drinks easy to grab. Loved the natural light through the windows. Price a bit steep however I'm sure is average for the area.”
“I dont have enough great things to say about my experience with this Starbucks location. The service is always friendly and drinks are always delicious. Mar is known to come up with some great recommendations off the menu as well. This location and employees never disappoint with their smiles and positive interactions!”
“The food was really good. We tried 4 different items, and all were great. Staff was quick and friendly. The only negative was the seating . You're forced to be outdoors, and there are not many seats. Moat tables are standing only.”
“Dining opportunities abound for all tastes and budgets at The Warfe. From upscale to casual chic, drinks to appetizers and the ultimate seafood dining, its all there and easily accessible from the citys most modern parking structure.”
“Small sandwich place with fast service and very good food -- great for a quick lunch. Each sandwich runs about $10”
“Visited for Sunday brunch with my girl. We had a good time. Bottomless was good be got maybe two carafes as our waiter did have a lot of tables. Good was decent needed salt and pepper a bit bland. I did appreciate not being rushed out after 90 mins like most places. We took advantage of happy hour after with Prosecco mimosas. It was more chill environment by the water. Wanted to try it did and I'm good on any future visits. It's a cute lil spot.”
“The restaurant atmosphere and service are excellent. The branzino dinner was very good. I was a bit disappointed with the lobster roll, which was mostly claw meat and mayonnaise. Also, the ground lamb skewers were a bit tough and tasteless. Overall, we had a good time, we will go back!”
“We went for the brunch, had the bottomless POG mimosas and they were good. Had the nachos and wings. Very good choices. Appetizers are good choice and good price”

“We stumbled upon Caf Twelve one morning while we were on a city break in DC. It is a quiet caf but don't let that deter you as the food really hit the spot and you can grab your coffee to go as you please!

Food:
The menu is simple however, what they do is very good. It was 9am when we stopped by so a good breakfast was on our minds.
We both got a bacon, egg and cheese, I got mine on a wrap and my fiance got her's on sourdough.
They cooked the food from scratch and they had it ready in a matter of minutes which was very impressive. You won't have long to wait here. After the food arrived I asked for some hot sauce to accompany my wrap and it was deliciously firey and tangy!
From what I've read in other reviews Caf Twelve is the best place to get a deli style turkey or ham sandwich however, I'm sorry I didn't try one of their grilled sandwiches as they are supposed to be very good.

The Staff:
The staff are friendly, attentive and very helpful. They keep the premises very clean and welcoming!

Layout:
When you walk in you will see that the Caf and dining area are all located in the one space.
The main counter and menu is infront of you and the cooking is behind that. Then to the right of the entrance there is another counter with a large to-go coffee station for customer use.
There is a handful of tables and chairs in the middle of the floor area to choose from with a counter and stools along the windows facing out towards the city street.

Decor:
The caf's decor is a bit dated, feels like the late 90's or early 2000's. However, don't let that deter you from entering this little gem!

Note:
On the day we visited I noticed that a lot of the shelves and coolers were mostly empty. If I am being honest if spooked me a little as in I didn't have high hopes for the food after seeing this however, I couldn't have been more wrong as the food was delicious.
So if its empty don't judge this book by its cover!
Apparently as one commenter mentioned, the reason why its so empty is because the surrounding Federal buildings are still at limited capacity. So the foot traffic in that area is not yet back to what it was pre-pandemic.
In saying all that, another reason as to why it was so quiet and for the shelves to be empty might be down to the fact that we visited on Wednesday the 3rd of July. A lot of people that work in the general area might not be working as they might be taking the whole week off as part of the 4th of July weekend!

Overall Opinion:
If you are looking for a simple, no fuss coffee to-go Caf then Caf Twelve is it. Its nothing like the modern chain cafs that are all the same. Its got a more small town feel to it.
If you are in the area I hope you get the chance to discover this business and try one of their freshly made sandwichs and grab some coffee to start your day!

Parking: I am not sure what parking is available in the area however, we rode bikes from the Capital Bikeshare system and parked them at one of the nearby stations.

Kid-friendliness: If you are a tourist or parent and you have your kids in tow this caf is perfect. Not too crowded, or at least it was at 9am on the Wednesday that we visited.
There was plenty of space if you needed to maneuver a stroler around and the entrance is level with the sidewalk so no steps to be dealing with.

Wheelchair accessibility: The entrance is one level with the street sidewalk. The main dinig area and counters were not obstruceted the day we were there.
I think a wheelchair user would have maneuverability in the caf however, I cannot speak for when it is busy as it was quiet when we visited.”
