Wouldn’t recommend. Didn’t want anything heavy because the walking we would be doing, but food is way overpriced for the selections you get.

Food is not bad, but it is no where worthy to such price. The dining hall is FILTHY, staffs are mostly Mexicans so don’t ask for help as they got no clue what you are talking about.

1) wait time is long average 10-15min in line2) food options are mostly junk except the veggies section which is $17/lb3) all meat dishes were bad and lacked all flavor and taste.4) food is expensive for the quality but i guess better can’t be expected since they have so much people wanting a lot of food really quickly. The museum doesnt allow outside food and drinks so most folks end up eating here anyway

If I could give zero stars, I would. Cafeteria style food that tastes absolutely terrible and is insanely overpriced. Our family of 4 were charged $83 and I didn't even order any food, I only grabbed a can of water for myself and one of the meals was a hot dog kid's meal. This place is absolute garbage. I wish we had eaten at one of the food trucks outside. By far the worst food of our entire trip.

Outrageously expensive. There was very long lines and very slow service. The food was pretty bad, like the french fries where the best thing there but the wait to get the French fries was very long. The burger ($17) was kinda soggy. The cake/desserts were dry and tasted pretty generic. Two people in front of us paid $80 and we (2 people) paid $60. Its depending on which nasty dish you get. We were excited because it was a restaurant inside the Smithsonian, but definitely not worth it! If the food was McDonalds price, the food would be fine. But everything was a 1/5 for me.

It felt like an ordinary Cafe. Nothing special. No contact with the client. The food is not the same value of how much it is. Trays were still wet and plates are heavy. Overall, overpriced.I paid $20 for this plate. No beverage included.

Not bad, but the options are somewhat limited. To be fair, we went when the coffee wasn't available, which didn't help its quality in my eyes, but there wasn't a lot. Sitting beneath the Megalodon statue, though? Extremely cool, not gonna lie. There are better options for you, food-wise, even in the food trucks outside of the museum, but this should work in a pinch if you need a snack or a drink, and would rather not leave the building.
A hot dog, 2 burgers, fries and drinks… $65!!!!! Whoa! It was mediocre food in a basement cafe. Not impressed.

This cafe was interesting. The food was also good, but a bit pricey. If you do not want to leave the museum to eat food, I would suggest eating here. It was pretty hot outside so we were happy to be able to stay inside and get food. I do not have any complaints about this cafe.

RUN! Don’t even think on eat here. The food tray was sticky, the food had an unpleasant fishy taste, leaving me to believe that recycled fried oil was used in its preparation. The lettuce in my salad was clearly past its prime, while the potatoes were undercooked and raw. To add insult to injury, the prices were exorbitant, making the whole experience feel like a waste of money. I strongly advise against visiting this place.

Museum food is what it is. It costs more than food you make at home and likely not as good as home made. But when your need food Natural History's food is better than most.
