Loved this place. Have eaten there 2 or more times per week for years. Delicious food. Friendly staff. It appears to have closed permanently without warning. Contacting them on Instagram accomplishes nothing. They send you a link to a "contact us" form on their website. I tried that weeks ago and they don't respond.

Delicious and healthy, but still had a uninformative CLOSED sign on the door today.Looks like they have been closed for about a week, so I sure hope this is only temporary!

The place seems to be closed. We tried to get there several times this week and it was closed.

An average quick service vegan restaurant. Very casual vibe. I’ve only tried their “Chick’n” sandwich with their house hot sauce several times! Definitely tasty, reasonably priced and quick! I actually think I had it once a week forabout a month!

Creative, tasty, healthy, filling, vegetarian food by a world-renowned chef at a very reasonable price. Yummy drinks too. I treasure this place.Though, Chef Andres, your brioche for your burgers is not fresh anymore like it was when you opened. If you could find a way to get back to that level quality on that one item, it would be a game changer.

All the flavors and quality of a Jose Andres restaurant, but in fast casual form -- what's not to love? Beefsteak has quickly become one of my go-to spots for a weekday lunch or speedy dinner with its great selection of veggie and grain bowls, delicious flavor combinations that span across multiple cuisines, and lively atmosphere.I love a good salad or grain bowl as much as the next person, but, especially in the winter, I find myself craving something salad-esque but warm. That's where Beefsteak's steamed veggie bowls come to the rescue! I love a great BYO bowl -- their kale and bok choy make a great base, and I can never say no to their perfectly poached egg.If building your own is too much effort (as it so often is for me), their chef's selections are phenomenal as well. My favorite is definitely the Eden. It's the perfect combo of all things green -- snap peas, green beans, edamame, cucumber, and pea shoots -- on top of a bed of earthy quinoa. The cilantro sauce gives it a great herby kick, while the garlic yogurt provides a lovely creaminess and savoriness that perfectly pairs with the fresh lemon honey dressing. Another top contender is the Frida Kale -- the kale and white rice make a hearty base, and the combo of the black bean and spicy tomato sauces pack quite the punch, but pair wonderfully with the pop of sweetness from the tomatoes and dried cranberries.Beyond the delicious food, what really makes Beefsteak shine is its speedy and friendly service. They truly live up to the "fast" of fast casual, but they never skimp on quality, attention to detail, or attention to the customer. This is true of both dine-in and take-out -- every now and then they run out of something that I ordered on UberEats, but they're very intentional about reaching out to see whether there's anything they can replace what I had ordered with (while most other places just ignore it).All in all, I could not recommend Beefsteak more -- it's solidified itself as one of my go-to spots in DC, and I can't wait until I can swing by to grab another bottle of their apple beet ginger juice and steamed veggie bowl.

oh god what's with all these unbelievable vegetarian places? they just might turn me! - jose andres having an affordable restaurant is a blessing - I ordered the Cali-power bowl and added any form of pickled vegetable I could, somehow they also ended up adding tofu to my dish and omg that was insane soaking up the mushroom marinade - this meal despite being 100% veggies filled me UP. she was a hefty bowl jam packed with flavor. I could not recommend the mushrooms more. cauliflower was good but not at all the highlight of the meal as the flavor was subtle - I ordered pick up and it was ready when I got there, definitely a great affordable easy option

The taste was good but I'm feeling some type of way because they barely gave me any sorbet compared to what they advertise. I'm a broke college student who thought that I'd be getting as much sorbet as Beefsteak advertised but I literally only had like two teaspoons left after one small bite and I paid $5.50 for it. They seemed to have hid the lack of sorbet with peaches and as a result I am very disappointed that I wasted my money.

My wife and I, both vegetarians, have been in DC for a week and have been pleasantly surprised by the availability of good vegetarian options here. We were looking for something a little different and came upon Beefsteak through Google and decided to give it a try. Oh my. The food was delicious, the young staff was knowledgeable and courteous. I was familiar with Chef Andres through his charitable work but had never had the opportunity to eat at any of his restaurants. The fast/casual nature of this restaurant is different I'm sure from his other ventures but I'm so grateful for the opportunity eat at one of his establishments. Again, the food is superb, the staff is friendly, it's quick and the value is outstanding.

Wow. This place was amazing, the food was so delicious and perfectly filling. The workers were so nice and were helpful with my craving of a side of kale, willing to adjust my orders with ease, and the workers seemed happy.

Quick and reasonably priced healthy food option near George Washington University. At this vegetarian fast food restaurant, you can make your own bowls or choose from pre-designed bowls listed in their menu. They also have sandwich/burger options. Everything is labeled to help vegans or those with gluten or nut allergies order safely. I recommend the chef's bowl!

Read great reviews and excited to try. Got the Gazpacho. Then learned the Gazpacho came from a plastic bottle!! They make it there, but then bottle it!! Why??? I had already paid by the time I was told the process. I paid while they prepped my bowl, then I had to grab the bottle from the cooler and I had to pour it in my bowl!! I don’t mind self service, but I avoid food items that come in plastic. The Gazpacho itself was just ok.
