One of my favorite restaurants! They have incredible options for gluten and dairy-free diners. Veggies instead of bread for dips, homemade almond yogurt to replace any yogurt in entrees. We had the mini tasting menu and there were very few adjustments needed. Absolutely delicious, especially the squash side, the lamb chops, the chicken in yogurt-based sauce, the rice with carrots and raisins, and tasty cocktails. Warm, cozy ambiance with a frequent sitar player.Dietary restrictions: Lots of gluten feee options and many dairy-containing options can be made dairy-free using their homemade almond yogurt.

Came here for dinner on a Sunday night. Food here was delicious- great place to try different Afghan dishes. We started off with the assortment of dumplings (all of the dumplings are delicious!! Our table’s favorite was the Aushak.) For entrees, we ordered the chicken sabzi lawaan, lamb shank moghuli, veal & nakhoud, and bistro beef tenderloin and lamb chop. All of the stews were super flavorful. Personal favorite was the lamb shank moghuli, which was tender with the meat falling off the bone.

One of the best restaurants in DC. Family friendly with its atmosphere and owners, we are never disappointed by the many (copious) dishes.

had a wonderful dining experience last night. the ambience was casual and warm, the food was amazing and the service was great, a little slow as he was busy but i couldn't have asked for a better server. i was disappointed when i requested no cilantro on my entree and it came with cilantro which i picked off and showed our server who killed us with kindness, humor and attention (and a dessert) that was over and above. everything was delicious (except the cilantro, ha!).

Everything here was amazing. Starting with the service, Dean our server was knowledgeable, welcoming and professional. Every cocktail I had was refreshing. The lamb chops were like no other before and I won’t eat lamb chops anywhere else, the salmon was seasoned perfectly…all the desserts were to die for. Every staff member was attentive from the host, bartender, server and manager I could not have asked for a better place for a quick date night.

This is currently my favorite restaurant in DC and my favorite Afghan food. I just wish they had a second restaurant on the other side of DC. It’s a far drive for me but worth it every time. I really appreciate the lunch special and the array of vegan options. Here are some dishes I love.Baadenjaan Moghuli, Sabzi Moghuli, the vegetarian flight, the Kadoo, Rumi chicken, cardamom ice cream. Can’t wait to try more!

Our waiter aziz I think made the experience. He gave us good recommendations. The bread and the dips we would come back for along with the chicken stew along with the pistachio cake. Dumplings were mid along with the lamb shak.

As someone who is celiac and vegetarian - there are very few places that can accommodate so easily as Bistro Aracosia. Not only is the food delicious, the staff are extremely knowledgeable and make you feel welcomed and at home. Aziz, one of the waiters remembered my entire order and my allergies three months later! That is some stellar service from a local restaurant. Kudos to everyone associated with this place.

We had a wonderful time at Bistro Aracosia! It was our first visit and we were celebrating my birthday. We ordered the complete tasting menu and really enjoyed absolutely everything! From start to finish, the staff was friendly, helpful and accommodating. Both the food and the service are really outstanding!

Really excellent experience. We have enjoyed their Springfield location. Came with some friends on a rainy night. Excellent attentive service. Each entree was great. Probably should have skipped the appetizer sampler platter.

Lunch on a Wednesday. Afgh. bread with peppery relishes was a nice treat. The Bistro salad was sizeable and pretty tasty. The vegetarian entree Aushak was not very tasty and not much food. My problem--not Bistro's--is the yogurt component. Many Afgh. dishes have it, but I did not like it mixed in with the vegetables. The custardy Afgh desert, served in a cup was very nice. I have had tastier food in the more extensive dinner menu and will probably order differently at future lunchtime visits. A nice place.

We shared the tasting menu for 2. There was more than enough food. Everything was really good but I especially liked the lamb chops and the pumpkin dumplings. Service was very good. I would definitely come again

I've eaten at restaurants in Kabul. It's as authentic as one can get.
