Not what I expected but not in a bad way. First, there is plenty of free, shared parking around back as well as a rear entrance. Second, it's more elegant than just a bakery/coffee shop where you can sit at any open table. They have table service and I would probably feel uncomfortable wearing sweatpants.I only had a key lime tart and cappuccino. The tart was beautiful and a small work of art. I'm very snobby about key lime anything and have had many different kinds. This one tasted a little of cheese (parmesan if you were wondering) and it's not my favorite key lime prep. I wouldn't avoid the place just because of the tart.The cappuccino was excellent.

This restaurant has gone up and down over the many years it's been opened; very many years. My visit on 3/10/24 for my birthday was lovely. The food was top notch as was the service. I had a lox and bagel with salad and cheese cake. I could not have had a better platter in a NYC good deli! The lox was plentiful, thick and fresh. The accompanying salad was just leaves and it was ok. There was plenty of cream cheese and the bagels were excellent. However, I wish they had everything bagels or whole wheat bagels. My companion had a French omelet that she said was perfect. The cappuccino was hot and just right. I've scheduled a return visit. For awhile I stopped going since the food went downhill. However, who ever now owns and operates B&C has restored this cafe to it's best reincarnation. Tybe Diamond
