My first time here this week, I had been craving ropa vieja FOREVER & finally got myself a plate.The food was delicious, the ambiance is beautiful but the service was just bad.I worked in the service industry for almost a decade, I don’t like to criticize how I am served at other places because often times it’s more than just the server’s fault for poor service. But I was honestly really disappointed here.We started out with one server but once he took our drink orders we were assigned a different server (I assume it was shift change)Our new server didn’t introduce herself, didn’t ask if we needed anything, and didn’t offer us any of the bread/butter starter, she just stated that our drinks would be out shortly and quickly left. We got our drinks but she didn’t come to check on us despite walking past our table several times. We waited 30 minutes & ultimately I had to wave at her from behind the bar to come take our order.After we ordered our food came pretty quickly & my inner child was very happy to finally have my meal.It was pretty busy when we arrived so I had a feeling things would be a little slow but she was just standing behind the bar talking to her coworkers. Not very attentive to her tables at all. The rest of the staff check on us a few times, our food came out quickly as did our drinks so I don’t believe this is one of this cases where she was set up to fail. Her service was just bad. It put us in a bad mood.

The drinks were great overall, and the food was delicious. I wouldn't call it a casual resturant because the prices were higher than those of a typical casual restaurant. The decoration is beautiful, and the staff are amazing. Our waitress was Elissa, and she was so kind and professional.

When you are in D.C. stop by and enjoy some Great Cuban cusine. Well stocked bar. Try a Paloma cocktail. Very Cuban ambiance. Just a few blocks from The Grand Hyatt Gallery Pl -Chinatownn is the closest Metro. On Saturday is Salsa Night, and there is a line to get in this place.

Delicious food! A little pricey for the portions, but delicious! Servers are kind and attentive! Atmosphere is wonderful and a little loud but not too loud, even on peak times! A really fun place for dinner!

Bad service !! I ordered black bean soup, which was supposed to come with bread on the side, but it was missing on the plate. I asked the server for it, but she never brought it. Additionally,she (the server) was rude to me, speaking in an aggressive tone when we were about to pay the check. When I go to a restaurant, I expect to be treated by their staff with a good attitude and respect, so I will never come back.
