I loved how the salmon tasted at the time of the meal. However, afterward, my husband and I both had such bad stomach pain from the caper cream sauce that we were up all night. It was horrible. Will never order that again.

Nice place, unfortunate the chef dictated how he would only serve lamb . The waiter said the chef would not cook my lamb medium well, he actually said it would be bloody. What happen to the customer is always right. I would have walked out if I was alone. I order the salmon instead, bad idea and to make matters worse, the waiter made a joke about my meal which I did not appreciate. Regardless, what a waste of my time and money for such a disappointment.

Excellent experience with the only drawback being our entrees arrived before we were finished with our appetizers. But we overlooked that with the totality of the meal. The outdoor dining was pleasurable and our waiter was friendly and knowledgeable. The appetizers of French Onion soup and foie gras were fine and the entrees of Duck Confit and Flemish Beef Stew were delicious. Dessert of Creme Brûlée (with visible vanilla beans) and Alex's cake were sinful. And, our wonderful bottle of Beaujolais was only $40! We'll be back!

An excellent takeout experience, from pickup to the dessert!! Everything was outstanding. We were celebrating a birthday/belated Mothers Day, and it was perfect. We had the cheese platter/gougeres as a starter over drinks, then the endive salad as a first course and salmon w/lentils as the main, finishing with the floating island. Everything was excellent. And as an aside, I love how they offer family style options for four. I have never understood why more places don't have this option. It's hugely annoying to have so many plastic containers. Et Voila packaged each course in large foil trays, with sauces and dressings in separate smaller containers, making serving easier (and better for the environment too). Highly recommend if you're looking for a dinner party meal!!

We enjoy this restaurant, but don’t come often. Friendly greeter. Crowded and noisy—authentic. Lots of people speaking French. Crusty bread and butter was delicious. Wine was ice cold. Very good service. My wife had delicious onion soup and salmon tartare. I had very good endive salad and curry mussels (frites could have been crispier, but still very good). We had excellent profiteroles for dessert (some more chocolate sauce would have put it over the top). Probably the 2nd best French bistro that we go to—Le Diplomate is #1—but this is much closer and easier to get a reservation.

Great food and exceptional service. Ample portions. Minor modifications easily made by staff

Three cheers for Et Voila! I booked a table for ten and flagged that five of us were children under 10. They seated us in a back room where we had space to ourselves and wouldn't bother other customers, which was perfect. Alex, our server, was gracious, patient with our questions, and spot on with her recommendations. The wine and food were delicious--mussels, steak, duck, and branzino were all winners. We had the best evening reuniting with dear friends we hadn't seen since before the pandemic, and Et Voila offered the perfect venue with lovely service for the occasion.

We had the most amazing meal here while visiting friends in the City. The menu is exciting, the food is exceptional, and the service was good. We had a French waiter who was typically Frency and not particularly helpful or open to providing suggestions. That is a bit rough for a foodie who likes to try everybody's favorite at a new restaurant, but more so when you are trying to choose a wine from a place you have never been to 3,000 miles from where you live in another wine country. This would have been a 5 if our waiter had been able to muster the spirit to be helpful. Did not ruin the experience as we live in San Francisco and are accustomed to ambivalent service.

Perfect Christmas Day lunch! Steamy, warm French Bread and a nice pat of butter were set on our table very promptly, and our water glasses were never empty. I got the Flemish Beef Stew, with Brussel Sprouts, and the server recommended an excellent IPA to go with it - absolutely delicious! The beef was so tender and stew flavored perfectly! My friend got the steak frites which were done to perfection and a glass of wine. The fries were amazing! Cozy ambience. Service was exactly what you hope for- attentive but not intruding. I look forward to going back again soon!

This place is becoming our go-to place. My husband and I came to this place to have lunch. We loved it. The place was packed with so many people even Friday afternoon. First I had Et Voila!" Burger. A burger was nicely cooked as a medium which I asked for. The portion was pretty huge. It came with a green salad and fried. Also, we had Alex's cake. We loved Dark and Milk Chocolate Mousse. It was not too sweet. The texture of the mousse was soft. I highly recommended this dessert. The second time I came with my family, As a drink: I had Raspberry Bellini. I loved it. It was very refreshing. I had Moules Diable - Mussels Cooked with Tomatoes, Shallots & Lobster Bisque. The mussels were nicely cooked and not bitter. I really enjoyed lobster bisque. My husband had a French Onion Soup. - The soup was seasoned perfectly. As for dessert: Profiteroles: I couldn't stop eating the chocolate sauce. ET VOILA CHOCOLATE SUNDAE: The portion was huge. This was my least favorite. I guess I was too full to enjoy. This is a very cute and delicious neighborhood restaurant.

The maitre'd was nowhere to be found when we arrived. After about ten minutes he showed up (and a line out the door had gathered). He did not say hello, basically said nothing, and bruskly showed us to the back room and a table by the bathrooms. Being a couple feet from people going in and out of the bathroom was unpleasant. A screen, curtain, or something to provide some kind of division would be good. Or don't put a table right there. We waited 15 mins and finally had to ask a server for a waiter. He was very good once he came. The beet salad was bland and tasteless, and had virtually no grapefruit or cheese to improve the taste. Basically a bowl of plain beets. Our entrees were all very good. It has become a super popular restaurant in an area where there are very many. They need to make sure customer service doesn't slip even when they're busy.

Holy sh@t; can't believe this place doesn't have avg 5 star review. Look at the 1 star reviews weighing this place down to 4, and those reviews are like ppl complaining they couldn't pick their own tables. The food is off the charts (steak frites pls); good casual, Non-pretentious atmosphere; and good value - super affordable relative to what you would pay for this food on say like 14th street. Believe all the 5 star reviews for this place and just know the 1 star reviews are probably some annoying ppl that you should be glad u don't run into when you go to et voila.

Charming place, delicious food, and very good service. The mussels in white wine were great. Atmosphere feels authentically French which is fun.

I fell in love last night. With Et Voila!!! This is the fine dining experience that I had been hoping for, for some time now. They earned 5 stars in service, cleanliness, ambience/decor, and of course the food. Ahhh...The meal! Let me tell you about it! Drinks: the Smokeypolitan (really hit the spot) and Chimay White Belgian Ale. Appetizers: Foie gras, which was served on homemade toasted bread, and with a special sauce. We also shared the endive salad, which had just the right amount of dressing (not excessive, thank God!) and cheeses. Entrees: son got the mussels (Moules Diablo) and I had the Flemish beef stew (served with mashed potatoes) Dessert: Profiteroles! Plus a cappuccino for each of us. What a night to remember! I will be back!

We had dinner at Et Voila because the restaurant of our choice was booked solid. Nobody seemed to care when we entered the restaurant. We were looking around for the host and we finally got noticed by someone at the bar. I didn't feel like we were treated like guests, it was more like they were doing us a favor by offering us a table. Fortunately the waiter didn't have the same attitude and we ended up enjoying our visit. We had snails for appetizer (first time I ever tried snails). They had three kinds of mussels on the menu and we ordered all of them. We were hoping that we could share, so that all of us would have a taste of each kind. The mussels tasted exactly the same, I believe the meals were different because of the sauce. It took a while to dig in the mountain of mussels to reach the sauce, so we ended up not sharing for sanitary reasons. We ended by sharing desert (one profiterole and one Alex cake). Overall it was a pleasant experience that gave me the chance to catch up with old friends.
