Delicious casual eats with a nice menu that everyone will be able to find something they want to try. It does get crowded on the weekend so use the Open table app to easily book a table. Make sure to try the Italian soda we did the blueberry / vanilla sans alcohol and it is the most delicious thing!

We waited for 20 minutes for service. The manager noticed and apologized but then it didn't get any better. She did give a discount of 15% but I would have much rather had decent service. The sausage was also definitely cooked hours before being served, it was very dry.

Long wait. I had the burger , which was just ok. The fries with bbq seasoning were very good. Had service been faster , I would return.

Reliable takeout option in Dupont. They're running operations out of Kramers, allowing you to grab a meal while browsing for your next book. The standout item is the fried chicken sandwich--thick, juicy, and a real tasty treat. The Feddy cheesesteak is also noteworthy, not to mention enormous. Both sandwiches provided a satisfying fill. The concept is from the folks behind Federalist Pig, so you're in capable hands. Bonus points for the name--maybe it's just me, but I have a ton of fun saying Fedwich. Fedwich. Fedwich!

We have always loved visiting KramerBooks in Dupont Circle when we travel to Washington. The bookstore used to be a little farther south along the circle, and this location was larger than we remembered it. The food/bar area has expanded significantly, including a large outdoor patio behind the bookstore. Since the autumn weather was so cool and gorgeous, my spouse and I decided to take a table on the patio and enjoy a glass of Patience chardonnay. (My spouse enjoyed two glasses, actually, but I stuck with just one.) Our server was a delightful young woman named Allie who took the time to chat with us about what we had been seeing and doing in Washington. She was attentive and pleasant, and interacting with her was a real joy. When we asked for our bill, we discovered that she had charged us only $7 per glass of wine rather than the $9 per glass listed on the menu. “It’s Happy Hour,” she said, “so I gave you the reduced price. See? It’s on the menu here.” She pointed to the drinks menu, where a sidebar indicated that nine-dollar wines cost seven dollars during Happy Hour. We thought it especially kind that our server gave us a lower price and that she said she hoped we’d return for another round sometime before we left Washington. She left a very positive impression on us. We enjoyed ourselves so much that afternoon that we returned to the patio the following afternoon at exactly the same time, ordering exactly the same glasses of wine. This time, the server was an older woman who barely smiled and made no effort beyond taking the order and bringing the drinks. When she brought the bill, we were surprised to see that the wines were charged at $9 per glass, not $7 per glass as we had paid just the day before. When we asked our server why the price had gone up (it was still Happy Hour, after all), she replied that she could not give us the lower price on the wines because we had consumed them on the patio rather than at the inside bar. We explained that we had been on the same patio the previous day, at the same time of day, and that we had ordered the exact same drinks. The server was visibly irritated with us when all we were doing was asking for clarification on the discrepancy between our two visits. We pointed to the drinks menu on our table and showed her the Happy Hour price. There was no disclaimer saying that the drinks had to be consumed at the inside bar. “I’ll need to talk to my manager,” she said. She left the patio in a huff, went inside, and returned a few moments later with an adjusted bill indicating $7 for each glass of wine. “My manager told me to just go ahead and change it,” she said stiffly. No smile, no eye contact. We paid our bill and left a good tip, but the experience soured me. I decided to go inside and speak to the manager. I explained to him that we had been on his patio for two consecutive afternoons and had totally different experiences each day. When I told him that the drinks menu indicated reduced prices during Happy Hour, he looked baffled and replied “It REALLY says that???!!!” I pointed it out to him on the menu, but he couldn’t care less, and then he made a remark which REALLY irked me. “We started lowering the drink prices at Happy Hour a couple of years ago to attract people to come in and stay a while,” he said. “But now we still have these bleeding-heart servers who insist on giving the lower price on drinks during Happy Hour instead of charging the full price.” Translation: We won’t charge you the lower Happy Hour prices if we think you don’t know about them. Bleeding-heart servers?? The friendly server who brought our bill on the first day charged us the Happy Hour price, just as the menu indicated. The server on the second day claimed that Happy Hour could not be honored on the patio. And then, to add insult to injury, the clueless manager mocked the first-day server as a “bleeding heart” for extending Happy Hour prices to us. He was not even aware that the Happy Hour prices were IN PRINT on the drinks menu which was handed to us ON THE PATIO before we ordered. Of course, ther

Kramers, every time I'm in Washington I have to visit Kramers in Dupont Circle. This bookstore has it all, an indie outpost that manages to survive when the big guys are folding, a destination eatery, an inviting bar with an accomplished event space....and don't forget all the regular and engineered coffee. I do at Kramers what I do at any bookstore...I browse. I particularly like books with crazy and unintuitive titles........and depending on how wild the title is.........I might even buy it. After a couple of hours of this cockamamie.....I'll grab some take-out 'cream of crab soup' with book under my arm and leave ...............an ideal place for a bookworm.

This is a great spot, especially if you like books. Would recommend and would absolutely go back. The physical facility itself isn't so great, but that's not why you're here, and it's perfectly adequate. I had the California Dagwood (which is basically a fancy veggie sandwich) and it was very good. To cancel that out, my wife ordered the crab dip with pita (we split everything) and it was also very good. We've been here before and it's become a must-visit when we go to DC. The adjacent Kramer's bookstore is not to be missed if you're into books. I spent too much money there and am very happy about it.

Three words: All day breakfast. But, honestly, all of the food (breakfast or otherwise) is delicious. You cannot go wrong with anything at this place. Also, it's a restaurant in the rear of a bookstore -- could you ask for anything more?

Fun place to stop in, have a glass of wine, and browse for books. They have a great fiction section and service at the bar was excellent. Didn't have a chance to have food, but the cake I saw on my way our, looked amazing.

Kramers was My wife's and I first date so we decided to have our wedding reception there. It went absolutely beautifully. The staff was exceptionally attentive, the food and drinks very generous and delicious!

The server never came back to check on us after a runner dropped the meal, The $24 crab cake sandwich was the worst I have ever had. We had a guest from TN, and I encouraged her to try one of the area's famous dishes. It was made with backfin crab and very thin, and mine was significantly smaller than the other two. The red pepper aioli was heavily used and had so much garlic in it that you could taste nothing else. It burned our tongues and gave all of us horrible indigestion. We had been wanting to try this place for awhile because it is always packed for brunch when we walk by, so we thought it must be good. I was actually embarrassed that we took our company there.

The arugula cobb salad was one of the best I have ever had! I savored every bite! I had my first "cold brew martini" there, and I'll be back for many more! Excellent!

We were greeted right away and seated outside on a beautiful Saturday morning. Server was quick to take drink orders and then food. Short time later we had our drinks and food shortly after. I had French Toast with strawberries and whip cream (delicious) my wife had bacon and eggs (large servings) coffee and orange juice were very good as well. Highly recommend this place for breakfast!

We are traveling and met friends from the area here. It is casual and affordable but the food exceeds expectations and the service was awesome. Highly recommend for book lovers too, as it has a nice local bookstore you can visit before and after you eat.
