Very disappointing. I’ve heard great things about this place for years and finally went while my parents visited only to be very underwhelmed and out several dollars. The restaurant setting was cool, but packed to bursting and therefore hard to see all the neat elements. Our server was condescending, and other servers carried on loud conversions while standing within three inches of my mother’s shoulder. It was impossible to chat without shouting because of how tightly packed people were. The focaccia at the start was excellent, and the pesto/burrata dish had very fresh pasta, but the broccoli con gnocchi was bland and flavorless. The Sunday sauce was fine, but not great. The *house* wines were standard, but came to $14-$17 per glass, which is a serious up-charge, even for DC.We paid a ridiculous price for mostly mediocre pasta and service. Had I known, I would have spent that money on a lunch at the Lafayette at the Hay Adams instead. There is much better Italian food in DC, and for that price, you can get better service and better atmosphere. Wouldn’t recommend for any occasion.

Oh my gosh this place has some pretty delicious handmade pastas! If I lived closer to the city I would probably go everyday. It's a bit pricey but definitely worth a visit.

It's an experience. Food is good. atmosphere is wild. It's just extremely overpriced for what you get-- Nona in the window is making bank. $22 for three tomatoes caprese and $40 for chicken Parm (not family style). The complementary shot of amaretto was a nice touch. Service was impeccable.

This place is always great. We love it for special occasions.Parking: Paid parking garage with 6' 4" height restrictions is directly across the street. Free street parking is there, but often difficult to find an open spot.

The cesear salad was okay, nothing special. The tea had a nice fruit essence to it and tasted refreshing. My mom ordered the lasagna and she said it was out of this world delicious! I ordered the linguini with clams and it was not great. I am limited due to not being able to have dairy. I might try it again and get something with marinara sauce.

This place was incredible from the service, to the atmosphere, and the food was definitely a 10/10. If you haven't tried this place it's a must.

Came here around 2:30 on Saturday. We had a reservation, not clear if reservation was needed but it was busy and I would recommend it. Rigatoni with sausage was great, broccoli and gnocchi was good. Bread was very good. The decor inside reminded us of Italy or at least Little Italy. A bit dark as you may see from my food pics. Tables close together so easy to talk to the strangers sitting nearby.

If loud big Italian places are your thing! this place is it this best one with huge Portions to boot. If olive garden and Maggiano's are great meals, this place is epic for you.Not real carbonara or pillow gnocchi. :/

WOW WOW WOW! Hands-down, do not miss stopping here to experience Authentic, Delicious, Italian fare!! SO good. One of the best Italian restaurants that I've ever visited. The Lasagna...best I've ever had. The Lobster Linguini Cardinale...can't go wrong. Everything from the atmosphere to the Food & Staff - a Top Notch establishment that shouold be a registered Landmark must-seeYes its expensive, but you will not taste Italian this good anywhere else & the portions are huge! And because they use fresh ingredients, the leftovers warm up the next day just as good as the day it was made.

The food here was amazing!! We had the mushroom ravioli and it was to die for!! Service was also great! It was very cramped in the restaurant. Kinda felt like we were all sitting on top of each other. Other then that it was a great time !
