Service was horrible. We noted on our reservation that we wanted a corner, handicap accessible table and that we were celebrating a birthday and wanted a piece of chocolate cake to celebrate (there is a mousse cake on the menu). We were not given a corner table. We tried to order calamari as an appetizer (at 6:30pm), and we were told that the restaurant was out of calamari. Throughout the course of our meal, three other tables that came in and ordered after us were served calamari. The chicken parm was reheated and rubbery, the pizza was overcooked, but the other dishes were very good. We ordered tiramisu and that piece of CHOCOLATE cake for dessert. We never got either - after 30 minutes, they brought over a piece of stale lemon cake. When we said something to the waitress, she claimed that the restaurant didn't serve chocolate cake and huffed about the tiramisu never arriving. She was not apologetic. It was a disappointing experience overall.

Pasta was really good! However, the calamari and our charcuteri board was not the best. More specifically, the prosciutto was really bad. We also felt very rushed by our server, too. Overall, you can find a quality meal with decent drinks but would not recommend.

Flavio is a great restaurant with good service. Our waiter was knowledgeable when we were deciding what to order for dinner. It was very crowded due to Valentine's Day. The restaurant is a bit loud and sometimes hard to hear people talking but that is normal when the restaurant is booked. We will definitely return

Terrible service! Waiter: Took an enormous amount of time to come to my table; served no water; served beer without a glass; brought main course entirely too early; disappeared repeatedly such that I had to go up to the receptionist to get additional items to eat. Waiter was absolutely frenetic. Am I to be impressed by some hyperactive individual? Now I wait forever for the bill. Amateurish. Do NOT eat here! There are better choices nearby! Please!!

It was super chaotic and disorganized, with a hostess whose first day was a busy Saturday night (big mistake). Our service was abysmal (slow, inattentive), and we got one wrong item. The manager apologized, but I'm not sure she took any responsibility. The food was uneven-- my Bolognese was great, the branzino was awful, the apps were pretty good.

Food was very good! Service was very rushed even at 6 pm on Saturday Server brought entrees before we were done with salads and tried to bring a second time even tho we were still eating salad! Another server wanted to clear my plate although I was still eating! They clearly wanted to turn the tables without giving us time to enjoy the meal

We have to go back and try something new!! Of course calamari is a must!!! A full appetizer serving of Bruschetta as we had smaller restaurants week portion last time. Polpetta and Fromaggio, chef !! My first love, Spaghetti Bolognese Capellini Pomodoro was a hit too!! Service was not disappointed!! The ambiance is perfect either for a date night or just hanging out with friends.

Appetizers came out same time as the entree. They just piled everything on the table and never came back for 45 minutes. The chef's signature dish Lobster Diavolo wasn't executed well.

After seeing reviews of Flavio we were excited to celebrate a birthday. It's a beautiful space and had a terrific energy. Unfortunately the food was just mediocre. One pizza came out soggy and was swapped out for mussels, which were already opened at presentation and chewy and overcooked. They were out of the lamb shank and the other entrees weren't anything special or unique.

We went to Flavio to celebrate my son's 19th birthday. First time there and we loved ? it. The atmosphere was great, the service and food as well. I'm from Italy and believe me, the pizza tasted just like back home! I will definitely return

I sat down at Flavio's to celebrate paying off my mortgage and was astounded to see on their menu that the prices bore no relationship to their online and posted menu outside. Instead of $10, the salad was $13. Instead of $14, the capellini was $22. Such dishonesty is unacceptable and I walked out and went to an Indian restaurant down the street, vowing never to set foot in Flavio's again.

The ambiance here is lovely. The food was good but it didn't blow me away, especially for the prices. Next time I'll try the red sauce. I ordered the fettuccini and the calamari. My friends all ordered the diablo pasta. Some of them liked it others said it tasted like regular pasta but nothing special. I was sad that you have to pay so much extra for some pieces of chicken. Makes everything very expensive especially when it's nothing special. The mussels were really good and I never had them before and I don't like oysters The food came out VERY fast. It took us a while to be seated because we needed to wait for our entire party. Once they came seating happened quickly. They're good for large groups, but it did get a bit chaotic with seat placements. But shout out to our waiter for truly going above and beyond!

Generally, really liked my experience here. Ambiance: (5/5) They had nice decor and plenty of indoor seating. Price: (4/5) Fairly average for the area. Food: (4/5) I really liked the penne I got. It had a spicy red sauce that was really flavorful. I also took a bite of the bruschetta and the tomatoes were seasoned perfectly. There aren't too many options for pasta, but everything I tried I liked. Service: (5/5) Food came out quick and the staff was really nice.

Had high expectations for this restaurant, that fell way short of them. Was celebrating my bday and wanted Italian. Highly rated, but very disappointed. Jammed packed and almost no space to walk, as they were maximizing the amount of people at the restaurant. Let's start with the basket of pita looking bread. This was cold, the dipping sauce had no flavor, the bread chewy. Very weird to start off dinner like this. Food was slow to get out of the kitchen. When it arrived, of the four dishes we ordered, 3 were cold. On the margarita pizza, the cheese was cold, as in not moving, the bottom of the pizza was wet, due to it probably sitting in the kitchen window for too long and the heat not being to escape. Service was slow at times. I would probably not go back as there are too many other “great” Italian restaurants in the DC area. The prices are very high for what it is, but would have been ok paying the prices if service was better and the food not slow to the table and not cold. I don't recommend spending your hard earned money here, especially in these times where there are plenty of choices and other restaurants hungry for your business. For four people the bill was $165!!!! This was for 2 Peronis, 1 bruschetta, 1 calamari, 1 Diet Coke, 1 margherita pizza, 1 spaghetti bolognese, 1 penne arrabiatta w chicken and Chicken Parmesan. Yes, for that it was $165 without a tip. So calculate $50 minimum per person if you go. Not worth it.

We sat upstairs, which made for a charming, quieter experience than the lower dining room. EXCELLENT service. My companions loved their gnocchi. I enjoyed my capellini and meatball, except that the sauce using whole cloves of garlic. The cocktails were yummy. The bread and dipping sauce to start were so good we asked for more. The flatbread was surprisingly deconstructed, but the elements were delicious.
