Went to D.C. for the weekend and ended up going to hill country bbq for lunch on Sunday and while the food was decent the service was terrible. We were greeted by the hostess and sat down and we were told then that we'd have to get back up to go order our food and so we did. The people cutting the meats weren't too happy to have customers or it could be that they just hate their job, either way they seemed bothered by us. After we got our food we sat down and saw that waters had been brought to us so we just started eating. During the time it took us to eat no one came to introduce themselves or ask if we wanted anything other than water to eat or how the food was. It wasn't until we complained about not having a server that someone came up and asked how everything was and what we wanted to drink after the fact that we were already done and paid for the food. The guy who was supposed to be our server just said that him and the other server were supposed to be helping each other but the restaurant was rather empty for that to be a reasonable excuse. Unfortunately there won't be a next time for me there.

Great brisket, also recommend the potato salad and beans! I will be back to try cornbread And pulled pork. We ordered delivery: Lean Brisket, Moist Brisket, jalapeno cheddar sausage, smoked turkey, Campfire Baked Beans with Burnt Ends, Collard Greens with Applewood Smoked Bacon, Longhorn Cheddar Mac & Cheese, potato salad, Confetti Coleslaw.

Nice food, but very unfriendly. It is a kind of buffet where you have to order at the counter, because ordering was not fast enough, according to the waiters, they became arrogant and unfriendly.

Absolutely love this place! The food is stellar (don't skip the pickles on your sandwich!) and the service was great. The kids had a blast and ate their whole meals as well. Can't wait to go back.

This rating is based on the customer service I received today Wed, April 10th at 1:45pm. provided by the gentleman cutting the meat to paying for my transaction. When i walked the gentlemen didn't greet me. I ordered my brisket and I thought bread automatically came with it but I noticed the guy didn't put it in the bag so I asked about it. The guy cutting the meat made it seem like asking for bread was such an inconvenience for him. Its been at least a year since I've been and i don't plan on returning any time soon. I work extremely hard for my money and if being nice and pleasant is too much, maybe they need to pick a different profession. Good food is always the goal but customer service is just as important.

Attending a conference in DC, a member of our party recommended this spot. It was 10 people overall. Cool spot, a mile or so walk from the WH, unexpected in DC, at least to me to be honest. Definitely a no appologies Texas bbq place! We took the que sampler, 4 meats 3 large sides, and took 2 of them... oh and a pound of wings too. That was SO MUCH food :-) Brisket was good a juicy. Chicken was tender and flavorful, hot links were meh to me... but the pork spare ribs were outstanding. Succulent, super tasty. Really really good. I wish we could have subbed one of the meat for pulled pork to try. The banana pudding was TOP. After this huge meal, cold refreshing super tasty, a real treat you gotta try. No leftover of pudding, that is a tell tale sign after eating so much already. Come hungry for sure.

Tried many of the sides and meats on the menu, nearly everything was the best I ever had, especially the baked beans, coleslaw and cucumber salad. Fun spot to unwind after a long day exploring!

Love the moist brisket. It literally melts in the mouth. Helps that you can choose how much meat u like (payment by weight) so there’s little wastage of food. The coleslaw is great too.
