We had high hopes since we've been going to the Lupo Verde on 14th since 2018 and it's consistently excellent. So it was shocking to endure some of the worst food & drink we've ever had in D.C, specifically:1) an Aperol spritz that arrived flat, which they remedied by pouring half out and then topping it off with club soda (really!); 2) the (unidentified) house valpolicella arrived in a carafe and was boxed-wine quality; 3) the short rib entree was at least half un-rendered fat and flavorless; 4) the tomato sauce on my chicken parm tasted like pure crushed tomatoes out of a can, with no oregano, garlic, or salt, and; 5) the chicken breasts in that parm had the skin *still on them*.I'm not one to make a scene or punish the server, so we quietly ate what we could, tipped 18%, and got out of there. We'll never return, and it was so bad I'm going to think twice about even going to the 14th street location again.

This is nothing like the location on T St.Our food had zero salt in it, and barely any flavor altogether. I ordered the short rib pappardelle and the short rib was 50% fat. It jiggled when the server brought it out. I understand that it’s a fatty cut of meat, but that fat should render in the cooking process.I also ordered an aperol spritz that had almost no (zero?) Prosecco. It was flat, so I sent it back, and the replacement brought out had even more seltzer in it. No prosecco.Don’t waste your money here, and go elsewhere.

Another DC restaurant that overcharges for the venue and underdelivers on food. They left the chokes in the artichoke and the risotto was bland, with undercooked asparagus. The only positive item was the wine, which says nothing about the quality of the restaurant. Go somewhere else.

Only went there once. Was originally very excited about the place. Food was underwhelming and over priced.

We came for happy hour and had a nice glass of wine and the artichokes, which were so delicious we ordered another portion.

I ordered a pasta carbonara to go. They gave me a half empty container of egg noodles with a few chunks of diced ham. Absolutely zero effort went into preparing the meal. Highly disappointed to say the least because I went there and ordered that specific dish on the recommendation ofsomeone who spoke highly of it.

Always one of my favorite places. The food is excellent. The service is excellent. The vibe is excellent. I'm a little biased about my favorite restaurant in my neighborhood. But it's always a pleasure to dine here. Expensive? A little. But you get what you pay for. And I like it. A lot. Cheers!

I come here quite frequently as I work close by and while I enjoy the food each time I visit (except for one frozen carpaccio a while back that instead of giving me a new one they just put under the heat lamp and it then became cooked), the manager is never kind. Like I mean, ever. She is never warm and welcoming. She usually is the host as well and just sits at the bar top on her computer. She acts like it's a chore anytime a guest comes in to be seated or a server asks her for something or a bartender needs a manager swipe for something. She is rude to guests and rolls her eyes. It was 70 degrees on Sunday so we asked to sit outside. Mind you no one was in the restaurant at 1130am on Sunday brunch and no one was on the patio either. It was such a to do and made us feel very unwelcome. As a restaurant manager who has a patio, you should probably foresee folks wanting to sit there on the first pleasant weather day of the season. I just honestly hate when she is there, she ruins the mood of the whole restaurant, I feel bad for the staff honestly. I just wish she'd find either joy in her work or work elsewhere. Our server was very nice and knowledgeable and upsold us and we enjoyed her service. The food was great and brunch offerings were good too.

food was good but the service was awful. we only saw our waitress once when she took our entire. nobody ever refiled our water, nobody came by to ask if everything was ok or if we needed anything. never got the chance to order more drinks......

We went on Valentine's Day night and the restaurant was packed to the gills. The kitchen got jammed but the staff was very attentive and accommodating. The food was delicious and the ambience was cozy and just right.

As always, our visit was OUTSTANDING!!!! The service was fast, polite and attentive and the food was delicious! After many visits, I tried the pollo frito sandwich for the first time and it was wonderful! Keep up the great work!

The older male waiter is horribly rude! My husband and I have been coming here for the last year, and the older head waiter has always been a bit rude, but nothing we couldn’t handle. We’ve always been regulars. Tonight I went with my two girlfriends, and I could not believe the manner in which we were spoken to. Condescending and patronizing would be an understatement. We’d been waiting for about 20min to order — no big deal! — and we asked the older gentleman waiter if we could order. He was clearly annoyed. So, we ordered appetizers and wine and tried to place our main course orders too (we’d had plenty of time to review the menu). He put a hand up to me, so I stopped speaking thinking he needed more time to finish writing down our appetizers. After a few moments, I tried to order my main course again. He cut me off again, putting his hand up to me, and said, “I don’t want to rush you to order.” And we said, “oh, it’s no worries, we are ready to put our mains in as well!” He then put a hand up to me a third time and said he would not be taking our main entree orders and abruptly left. It was sort of weird, but we shook it off. Anyway, we ended up placing our orders it with a different waitress and as we were eating our appetizers, he took it upon himself to come back to our table and extremely condescendingly said, “see this is the appetizer, once you’re done with that, you get the main course, that’s how that works.” I was pretty shocked and embarrassed that I had suggested this place to my friends. He’s never been that rude when my husband was with me, and now I wonder why he was so rude when it was a table of women. Anyway, the other waitstaff (a younger woman and man) were extremely kind and attentive. I can only hope they aren’t being mistreated by their superior the way he mistreated us tonight. As for the food, it is great. But I won’t go back, as I’m not paying that much money to be spoken to so rudely when I was nothing but kind and patient. Completely unacceptable and unwarranted behavior.

This is the third time I've been to Lupo Verde. The food is always delicious and the atmosphere is wonderful. It was nice on a Sunday night because it was quiet and peaceful and we had a lot of opportunity to catch up over a bottle of wine. I love the idea of their fried artichokes, but I would've preferred it if they were made more authentically, less breading, other than that everything else was amazing.

We love the cozy atmosphere here. We went early so noise was not an issue and it's so small I don't think it ever would be an issue. Service was very attentive. The lasagna and tagliatelle with short rib were quite tasty.

If you have to go anywhere for dinner in the Palisades, this is the place to go. Excellent Italian food and even better service. It gives you a great home feeling and the food will never disappoint.
