If you like Nordic food, check this place out. It has great food, friendly service, and an informal atmosphere.Dietary restrictions: They had good options to accommodate my gluten allergy.

Went there for lunch. The kids were excited to eat Bratwürste with potato salad and the reviews sounded great. But my kids couldn’t eat the potato salad which had a very weird taste not to say something else.My husband had the pea soup and a salmon quiche which were fine.I had a toast with salmon and poached egg. That was ok but prepared in advance so the bread was a plain piece of white bread, it wasn’t toasted warm and the egg was cold. The salmon was good but the overall would have tasted so much better it would have been prepared fresh. We were a bit disappointed because the reviews were so positive and our experience was somewhat tepid. We only ate and didn’t drink coffee. So on that we can’t appreciate this place.

This restaurant had fantastic Nordic food, prepared by the owner/chef who, in past career was the chef for two Scandinavian embassies. He and all of the personnel were extremely friendly and helpful, explaining what Skagen was, as well as what made for a Swedish potato sausage. The soups were great as was the salmon eggs Benedict. As for deserts be sure to get the cranberry rhubarb sour cream tart!!! We highly recommend this restaurant!!!

Cute little neighborhood place. Fine food and good cocktails. Great value. Little inside dining. Mostly outside in a wooden structure on the curb. Some outside under an umbrella. Great service and great food.

I took my daughter here for her birthday. I was so glad we booked a table as the restaurant was busy around the 6 o'clock hour on a Saturday. We decided to have tapas, and they were fantastic! The beat hummus was very unique, the risotto meatballs were perfectly spicy, and the waffle was a refreshing way to eat salmon. I would recommend all three of them. We were so full, but indulge in the dessert they brought for my daughter's birthday a slice each of apple and rhubarb flat pie which were equally delightful. There are few staff, seemingly family? But very friendly and cordial. The ambience is eclectic, small and quaint. I highly recommend Mikkos as they offer breakfast and lunch as well

I would highly recommend and want to return when the weather is better but either way, this experience was delightful. It's transports you to the Nordic region and really encompasses you in a full experience. The service was earnest and personable, the food, beverage and spirits menu were authentic to the Nordic region. There is a quaint grocery melded throughout the restaurant where you can purchase takeaways. If you don't have time for a full dinner menu, there is a deli/grab and go section too with "to-go" sweets.

Chef Mikko serves up the best Finnish dishes: cardamom rolls, gourmet open face sandwiches, grav lox, salmon soup...all the delicacies of Finland. You can order takeaway main dishes of so many types, from lamb stew to baked whitefish. And desserts!!! Try the cranberry tarts!!! No surprises there, he moved here about 15 years as the private chef of the ambassador of Finland. Happy Hour every day from 4 to 7.

The food and service at this little restaurant were excellent. There is a small but very nice selection of Scandinavian and other European foods for sale as well. The interior is little more than a small bar and a table, however, we look forward to returning and enjoying the cuisine seated at an outside table with a bit more atmosphere when the weather warms. The food is most definitely worth many return visits.

The food was only ok, and the service was terrible. We had a 9 pm reservation and sat outside. They plunked down the food when it arrived, never came back once to see if we needed anything, and at 10:40 let us know were closed (they close at 11) and turned off the lights and heaters early.
