They started adding hidden fees on the bill. A “delivery fee” when we were dine- in for everything. They don’t show you the itemized receipt when they bring the tablet to pay as well. The menu nor server let you know about it. When I asked about it after paying and getting the receipt I was told “I don’t know, it’s DC law or something, they just started doing it”

In an almost empty restaurant was told we could not sit at a table for four but instead had to sit by the front door and the draft it caused at a table for two. But, a table for one was seated at a table for four. Cute little spot across from our hotel. Staff is super friendly and nice. The prices weren't crazy. Although, I wouldn't go back for the food, I'd def go back for the drinks; they were on point! The salmon left something to be desired, but the curry sauce is really good. I swapped the cauliflower out for asparagus, so I cannot comment on that. I wish it came with a starch of some kind. My son had The Royal Jr and he said everything was good except the eggs, he's 9. Overall, nice spot to have a quick brunch on a budget.Kid-friendliness: Kids menu
I have been going to Open City since 2019, and I have always loved it! However, recently, the service has really gone downhill. We went for brunch on Sunday and our waiter completely ignored us (as a former retail / food service worker, you can tell when it's on purpose). He was openly rude and would ignore us when we asked for another coffee / water / the bill. I won't be coming back here for a while.
