We had a great experience, enjoyed the atmosphere, the service and the food (although the food was a bit salty). Make sure you order the mezze plate.Overall, it’s recommended ?

I came with some friends this weekend and had truly one of the most outstanding meals of my life. Everything was cooked to perfection, the drinks were delicious, the portions were generous and the prices were beyond reasonable. The decor in there is beautiful too and it really felt like I was on vacation. Our server Muhammet was also incredible- great sense of humor, took great care of us and made the experience so great. I rarely write online reviews but everything here was so perfect that I felt the world needed to know. This is now by far on the top of my list of favorite restaurants in DC. I can’t wait to come back.

Best Turkish food in DC! Great food and atmosphere. Definitely recommend the “Trip to Turkey” 4 course meal and the Raki Colada. Muhammet, our AMAZING server was the icing on the cake.

Amazing place to eat. Very kind and efficient waiters. They have a variety of options and everything is really tasty. You can go for unlimited brunch menu as much as the unlimited dinner menu. I appreciated seeing the waiters and cooks sitting at a table to share a meal in between shifts.Ps: Great restaurant for a date! I went on a first date with a guy a couple of years ago, and now that man is my husband ?.

I wanted to like this place but left pretty disappointed. I ordered the Beyti Kebap. It was cold and mushy, the tomato sauce on top was cold and tasteless. The yogurt underneath was cold. The meat was spongy and wet. My table also ordered Adana kebap and chicken kebap, same issues. We went on a Sunday but definitely didn’t feel like the menu that earned their Michelin star.

Unfortunately, we were disappointed by the place we came to from 2 hours away. Even though we had a reservation, most of the tables were empty, but they seated us in the back where the food was being cooked and where people were sitting back to back because of the crowd. Upon our request, they took our table next to the bar and we ate our meal in the smell of alcohol with 2 children. Food service was very slow, salad arrived last. The waitresses' nails were beautiful, but they were not suitable for a restaurant employee. We said goodbye to the place by paying $160 for only 2 pieces of the Trip the Turkey menu, on the condition of not coming back to the place.

The food was 10/10!Service was OK but the food kept coming out I couldn’t really tell and the food was too good to complain.Kid-friendliness: It’s loud atmosphere and I think it’s kid friendly

Beware of their food, attitude, and a 20% surcharge that doesn't go to their wait staff.

This is a beautiful restaurant and we loved the Mezze. Had Dolmas, Falafel and atom spread. all delicious. only three stars because the mains were not great. my meat was really dry and theyd put it on a bed of their house bread that had been cut up. the bread is delicious, but it was described on the menu with white rice. mostly it was a plateful of disappointing meat. go for the mezze!

Make sure you check your bill. They add 20% tip on every check. First time I was there never paid attention and left double tip it was a good service but wasn't really worth 100$ tip.

We got the big kabab platter and it was very very good! The restaurant looks very authentic and staff are friendly, problem is the 20% service fee that doesn't include the tip

Ottoman Taverna is a constant good in the world. I've been three times over the years, brunch, lunch and dinner. Each time I've tried something new, and while a lot of the food descriptions seem very similar, they each have a little uniqueness to it. It's a beautiful restaurant, good location that's not too busy, and good food at a good value. I don't hesitate to come back at any time.

My husband and I did the Ottoman Experience for brunch and loved it. So many tasty small plates, fresh food and great atmosphere. Our server started us off with the cold appetizers then warm, and a few of our choices plus the grilled meats, and plenty of whatever we wanted. Generous refills on mimosas then coffee with an additional dessert of knafeh. So delicious (my husband's 2nd favorite dessert) Good thing we had a mile walk back to our hotel. We will definitely be back.
