Now... let me first start by saying when I was leaving the manager "dapped" me up ... he won me over as a customer since then. I mean, very homey feeling. Laid back. I mean people walking around. Everyone talking to asking you wanna try different food and trying this . I got a brisket sandwich to-go with fries. An as soon as I se em my sandwich I knew this had to be ate immediately. Very tasty and different from conventional barbecue places they have multiple choices of different sides of different sandwiches different salads just protein I mean is really hard to give this place a bad review I mean just off the people and the environment five stars all the way around definitely coming back really appreciate it

March madness begins tonight. I am fully domesticated … but a demand for downing. BBQ is strong in the universe. When back alley was actually in a back alley, we order a number of times. We concluded reluctantly that the quality declined too much. I recently heard from an expertly qualified colleague that the new location was dishing good. Gave it a try. The sandwich - the Mac Rib — was ok but not quite a match for my expectations. Good taste but texture and toughness was off. Wish I d ordered the brisket sandwich. Sidewinder fries are excellent. Even traveling out. Slaw was fine. I am recommending but will order differently next occasion?!

They did not get the order right. I called immediately, spoke to the manager, he said sorry, nothing he can do about it. (He could not have the correct order delivered? That’s what he told me.) He blamed the delivery company and suggested I call them to complain and try to get a refund. That call took 20 mins… We had planned on ordering for the upcoming nfl football games, but, we’ll find a more reliable source for our bbq… photos seems to suggest it was not the delivery company that was in error… wagshals used mean quality, not anymore…

The brisket is so good, just as good as Texas. 10/10 for quick and pleasant service and ambiance. A fair amount of sides upgrades at a reasonable cost.

Tucked inside a higher-end bodega, this location does a brisk carryout business. They have a good, varied menu and great fries. The guy taking orders was very helpful and friendly. The food takes a while to prepare so you want to order ahead. They have a sister location on New Mexico Ave. Try the strawberry lemonade!

The operations of this place are a mess. I called to place an order and the phone line got cut off 4 times. The employee told me he their phone line was having issues. Placed my order and drove over. Parking was weird and I wasn’t sure if I was parking in the correct place. Finally found Pitmasters and wasn’t sure if I was supposed to go to the right or the left to get my order. I found the place where BBQ was being sold and stood right where a sign says, “Place your order here.” Waited about 2 minutes for an employee to acknowledge my presence. I was told to go to the front to pay b/c my order was up there. I asked to add cornbread and the man added it to my ticket. Got to the front and the cashier asked me to wait a few minutes (not sure what for). The first employee came over a few minutes later and told me it’d be 15 minutes before the cornbread was ready and asked if I still wanted it. I said no, so he told the cashier to cancel the cornbread addition. She complained about their process being problematic and that she needed to call someone. I was told to wait again. About 2 minutes later I asked her if it was ready and she told me they were still making it. I told her I was told that the food was ready and at the front. She looked over to where pickup orders are and found my order. I paid then checked whether my order was correct. I ordered brisket (“just the protein”), but they gave me brisket sandwiches. I told her my order was incorrect. She passed me off to the first employee and he told me he had misunderstood me because the phone lines were having issues. Never once on the phone or in the store did I say the word, “Sandwich.” He then told me that they don’t have the brisket. Wow. 30 minutes gone by for nothing. I had to wait a few more minutes (seeing a theme here?) for them to refund my money. I asked for my parking ticket to be validated, which they did and I left, irritated and empty-handed. They could have the best BBQ in the world, but it wouldn’t be worth the headache I went through. They probably don’t have the best BBQ in the world, but I didn’t have the chance to find out.

The wings should be removed from the menu. They are smoked, which is amazing and a differentiator from your standard wing place, but then they DEEP FRY the smoked wings - completely ruining them. They are greasy with 10x as much salt as they should have. It wasn’t seasoning - it was just covered in salt and I couldn’t eat more than one or two. A few friends had the same experience with the wings on other occasions so it wasn’t the specific day or cook. The service staff was fantastic, but I can’t recommend much of the food.

Came in tonight ready to try some awesome BBQ, but was super disappointed in the service. Rude lady at the counter had a terrible attitude, said she was “just trying to get out of here” and was super pushy when trying to order our food. I ended up leaving without the food because i was so disgusted with the service. I manage a retail store everyday and I would never let my employees treat any customer like that. never going back

1/21/2023 If I'm feeding 14 people in Chevy Chase for a football game today you could at least pick up a phone. Foods been good in past but the service sucks, it's probably out of business. This place is an embarrassment for WAGSHAL'S who are a service company. Called 9 times today !!!!!!

Ordered a Carolina Chopped Shoulder sandwich and they forgot mother in law slaw?. Just bread and chopped shoulder…..disappointed to get all the way home to find out.

Carolina chopped bbq and Korean bbq sandwiches were dry and a bit tough to chew - very average to below average. Potato fries were good.

I ordered BBQ chicken and received BBQ ribs and this isn’t the first time this place messed up my order! I will never order anything from this place again—incompetent and careless!

Ordered the Burnt ends cheddar biscuits. Ends were 50% inedible. Only half were tender enough to chew thoroughly and some had a lot of fat. They looked and tasted "old". The overpriced biscuits were inconsistent. The first one was tasty with a crisp shell. The second was very spicy. I like spicy food but wasn't prepared for it after the first. And the second also tasted "old". Almost musty. I have eaten here before and rather enjoyed it. Not so much this time. If I do go back I'll get something else......
