I’m not good at names, but the staff is so welcoming that I can remember theirs. The food choices are nice, but the flavors are extraordinary. Try the balsamic cocktail. If you are driving, drink no more than two with dinner.

Came here for dinner. The food was delicious and the service was great. Hidden little gem on H street. Not super busy or crowded. Great for a date night!

We came here today for day one of restaurant week. This is truly one of the worst service I’ve ever experienced dinning. We waited for 20 minutes to be seated even though I made a reservation. We were not waited on for another 40 minutes after sitting down - not even water. We then waited another 30 minutes or so for food, which the main dish came before our meze and apps… and only half of the table got their food while the other half continue to wait 20 minutes. I literally had to ask for bread because by this time I was hungry almost going to pass out 2 hours after our reservation time. When my food finally came out the lamb burger was completely cold…. And my dessert baklava (which I assume is pre-made?) just never came and I ended up taking it to go..The food was ok nothing that impressive or stood out… the lamb Berger was cold and smells burnt; the salad that came with the Burger was tasteless; the chicken dish was good. The fried dough was dense.at the end we got charged the credit card fee even tho we used a debit card. I didn’t even fight it because that probably would take another 30 minutes to get the right check.I understand they’re understaffed today but I honestly would never come back again with any chance of it happening again.

My family and I had a fantastic meal to celebrate the holidays together at Sospeso. I requested a “group dining” experience using the events form on Sospeso’s website. Through this process, I was able to work with Mike (the owner) to organize a wonderful three course meal for my family, with wine and cocktail pairings. It was a tremendous hit. The meal opened with a house-made vermouth and champagne cocktail, and we did spreads (hummus, labneh, baba ghanoush, olives). Then we had half pours of white and red wines with our entrees. The red was my family’s favorite — it was an incredible 2013 Nebbiolo that Mike and the staff had opened ahead of time to let it breathe. The evening concluded with a brandy cocktail and dessert. In sum, the food was delicious, the wine and cocktail pairings were dynamite and thoughtful, and the service was also very attentive. I also loved that they made nice print-outs of our menu — a nice keepsake for a memorable meal with family.

We stopped in before a show at Atlas Arts across the street. The service was top notch. We asked first if we'd have time for dinner before our show and they said we did but also demonstrated cognizance of our timing. The food was excellent. I'm vegetarian but my friend is not, so we got a whole range of food and it was all great. I will definitely come back again.(The only "negative" is that there isn't much soft seating and a lot of hard surfaces so would be noisy when full. Lucky for us, dining early, there was only one other table and though they were loud, it wasn't oppressively so.)

Great cocktail selection of cocktails, some seldom seen on menus. Food was excellent we tried many items from the menu, and they were very helpful with simplifying items for our kids. Thanks for a great dinner!

I've been to Sospeso many times. Brunch, happy hour, and dinner and all of them were consistently very enjoyable. I'm always surprised that the restaurant isn't as busy so please go! The staff are friendly and quick, and the food is delicious! One thing I would say is the lighting needs work. It feels a little dark in the back area and the lighting is a little dreary. On a sunny day, the bar, front, and upstairs are so nice.
