Nice and intimate pub. We came around 8:30 on a Friday night. They have lots of specials including $8 martinis on Wednesday (which were honestly okay). They have two menus available-a more traditional bar and British menu along with the Thai menu from upstairs. They told us they have live music and trivia on Thursdays. Very comfortable and low key spot.

The food was very delicious and the staff were very kind. The curry puffs are amazing! My only minor issue was the lack of vegetables in the dishes that we ordered, such as the Pad Thai with tofu (despite my asking for veggies to be included).

Didn't hear a ton of music based on the live acts hosted years prior. Needs a pool table or two in the back. Bar service was solid.

While the soup came after the noodles, everything was delicious. A visit is a must, if you're ever in that vibrant part of Dupont. It's a hop, skip, and a jump from the north entrance of the Metro station.

What a neighbourhood gem this restaurant is! We had a charming welcome and were made to feel very welcome. We only had time for a main course, but both the green and massaman curries were superb, lots of nuanced flavour and just the right level of heat. We will be back!

I'd heard great things about this restaurant and was somewhat disappointed. Some dishes were remarkable (the drunken noodles) and others were lack luster (The Penang curry did not have much flavor). The service wasn't very attentive, perhaps because we got there so early (5pm). I'm on the fence and would like to try it again.

Not a bad place for pub food and to watch a sporting event. Live music the Saturday I was here. Wonton soup was good....homemade? Tamarind wings hit the spot.Nice basement British themed pub. Since the Thai place upstairs shares the space you get two menus for the price of one!

If you're gonna allow reservations at 9, well don't close the kitchen at 9:30 and ask us to move to the bar/give us explanations. I'd cap reservations at 8:30. Didn't get the chance to eat, decided to leave because people in our group were concerned with the kitchen closing and didn't want to have anyone waiting on us.

The Thai restaurant is above a British-themed restaurant and the two are connected by stairs. Somewhat strangely, you can order off either menu. However, no one told us until the meal was over that the British food from downstairs often takes much longer than the Thai food upstairs. I was finished with my meal before my friend's even arrived. Fortunately, my choochee salmon was delicious! The service was somewhat slow and seemingly amateurish. It was about 15-20 minutes before our drinks order was taken. And the servers seemed to lack confidence and experience, but were very friendly. Would return in a pinch, but wouldn't seek it out.

We enjoyed our first trip to Thaiverse. We went around 6 in the evening and chose to sit in the "streetery" set up in front of the restaurant for all the restaurants on that stretch of road. Great ambiance, eating on a beautiful evening with a festive atmosphere. Service was attentive and good and pleasant. The entrees were excellent. We had drunken noodles and massaman curry beef. We also liked the fried oysters (which came from the Childe Harold menu shared by Thaiverse). Two small points off: I suspect that my happy-hour frozen margarita, which I drank on a mostly empty stomach but which produced no buzz, had little alcohol in it. Also, the "sweet and sour calamari" consisted of calamari breaded and fried to within an inch of its life, accompanied by a tiny container of sweet and sour sauce. Honestly, it was so flavorless it was hard to believe it came from the same restaurant. We won't order the margarita or the calamari, but we will go back.

Really was looking forward to Restaurant Week and trying Thaiverse. Overall food was ok, with the exception of the duck which was very good. Cost was very high - 3 people w 1 alcoholic drink was $182 with the mandatory 20% tip. Bill was also $20 over and I had to correct it. I do typically tip 20%, but service was awful. To give a feel, the food came out in this order for 3 people: 1 appetizer; 3 soups; 1 entree; 2 appetizers: 1 entree and then 20 minutes later the final entree which they forgot to make.

Can’t speak on the food but I can speak on the level of hospitality and kindness. My friend and I stopped in for a cocktail and just as we were about to leave it started POURING. I’m not sure if the gentleman that gave us a ride back to our hotel was the owner or GM but he & our bartender were both rockstars. Thank you so very much, we look forward to seeing you both again & trying the butter chicken

Great bar. Brand new but the atmosphere is clean and fun, the darts are excellent, and the food looks solid. Will surely grow in efficiency and drink option too.

Tia was so attentive and great. Tia was super nice! BUT Casey was NOT NICE. he was rude and told us we were too loud IN AN EMPTY BAR. It’s a new bar— it’s interesting that they’re kicking out new patrons without a reason…

Atmosphere: 1
