They close before their listed close time. Beware of that. They have pretty good food. But they’re not honest about when they close - it’s not 11pm on weekdays as they advertise.

i have only ordered in from this restaurant. the tacos were quite heavy; but also filled with a lots of meat. so if you like that kind, go ahead cuz it tastes good. but i prefer tacos that are a bit more balanced

The beef and lamb quesabirria tacos are delicious! I ordered delivery and they were packaged well and still hot/fresh.

We got the mushroom tacos and the onions on them were completely undercooked and there just wasn't much favor overall.

I had heard great things about the birria tacos here, so I stopped by for dinner. This is a take-out only spot, and you pick up from one of two windows. I ordered the beef quesabirria, which is $16 for three tacos and consomme (pricy but honestly pretty standard for DC). On the one hand, service was fast and friendly, pickup from the window was easy, and the order was packed well for travel. The tacos are large and generously filled. On the other hand, the meat and the consomme were both virtually flavorless. The texture was great! The meat was cooked well! But it was just completely bland. Kind of a letdown, but I certainly didn't leave hungry, and I'll just keep searching for a good taco spot.

Torn between 3 and 4 stars. As a recent texas transplant, I was craving some good tacos and Mangonada. The brick-and-mortar equivalent of a food truck, the service was quick and staff professional. They have an online order-ahead option that I recommend for larger orders. The Al pastor tacos I got were AMAZING, and a reasonable portion for the price (for DC). They didn't have mangonada, but they had a tropical version called piña chamoyada, and it was delicious! Lots of mango, pineapple, and coconut, laced with chamoy and tajin. I highly recommend both of these! However, whatever they're trying to pass off as Elote is not it, Fam. I was so excited for a good cup of street corn, but this lacked any spice or lime, and even just the cheese and Mayo (?) tasted weird, like maybe they're using something else. Ate one bite, stirred it up and tried a second bite, and immediately put it away. No sir this was not street corn and not even good. This is what knocked down the ratings for me, especially at $8. I might be back for the tacos, but I need to find another place for my elote fix.

Food was salty and took away from the birria taco experience. I was given no utensils and I requested extra lime and didn’t get it. Won’t be going

We have ordered tacos here since they opened at the U Street location. Tacos made my owner were amazing. We enjoyed them so much that we would order the 12 taco platter. Now that the owner has opened at the downtown food court the U Street location has gone down hill. Tonight's 12 taco platter had about half the lamb, beef, and mushrooms as we usually receive. As soon as we opened the lid of the container we could tell that these tacos were made by someone who did not really care about making great food. Unless the owner starts dropping in to make sure that the employees take making traditional tacos to the highest standards then we will have to find a much better place for tacos. The website has a 6% service fee that is not disclosed until checkout. A zero tip returned an error. The $2.00 tip we paid was excessive for the quality of the service we received at the window.

Ordered the xochi platter which has tacos and birria tacos but was missing the salsas for my tacos and I don't know if the birria tacos come with consume but it was missing the consume but overall taqueria xochi is my favorite everything is so delicious and their mangonadas are better than the mangonadas for la michoacana!Update: the food is good but a little pricey !

I've been dying to go to this spot for a long time because of all the amazing things I hear. Luckily I was leaving a show at 9:30 club and needed dinner so we had to come over. Online ordering times varied and reached up to 60 minutes every time I checked so I had to wait until it got down to 30 minutes. It was a Friday so not surprising. We ordered the Pork Belly Chicharron with Guacamole, Tacos Dorados, Beef Quesabirria, and the Lamb Birria Tacos. Pick up was easy aside from parking so make sure someone can get out and grab it. They have a dedicated pick up window so it made things simple. Everything smelled so good so we had to bust something open. At first I thought the Chicharron was pricey but we got a take out tray with three huge fried slabs of pork belly that was perfectly meaty, crispy, and fatty. I would've opened the guacamole in the car but it was too messy. When we did get home though, that guacamole was also delicious (and also came in a big container. The Tacos Dorados were heavily topped with crema, salsa verde, lettuce, and queso fresco. Inside was stuffed with chicken. The chicken wasn't super flavorful but the extra salsa on the side really brought it together. The Lamb Birria Tacos were really good. I did get the ingredients separated for travel which worked out great. Wish I had more tortillas and cheese but still good. The Beef Quesabirria was so flavorful and cheesy. The beef was very tender. The consomme was also very flavorful. The place lived up to the hype for me. Anytime I'm around U street I will be making a stop here.
