Very disappointing. While the service andsetting were fine, the food was universally awful. Very small portions for the price, served cold, either tasteless or gagging spicy. My wife tried 3 different white wines and hated them all. We skipped dessert and went home for another meal!

Enjoyed breakfast at this historical hotel during a weekend away stay. Service was prompt, attentive but unintrusive. Eggs benedict and pancake breakfast with side of fresh berries were not only on delicious, but very fresh. Coffee was perfect. Diningroom is beautiful with comfortable seating. Would go again in a heartbeat.

This is a go-to lunch spot for us when in DC. The staff could not be more friendly and professional - super attentive and yet somehow invisible. The food is consistently very tasty and exquisitely presented.

A true treat and amazing experience! Beautiful environment, best service experienced in a long time. Visiting from California and felt I was treated like a VIP. Food was impeccable and service above amazing.

Excellent brunch at a historic restaurant in walking distance of the White House, St. John's Church and Lafayette Square.

We liked this restaurant because the tables are spacious and lots of room between tables so it felt private and they played quiet classical music. The service was excellent and food very good. The only complaint is that it is very expensive and portion sizes are small.

I thought the food and generally the service was excellent, couple of things that I would have expected from a Michelin rated restaurant would be that they would have scraped off the table, remove the wine glass that you weren't using, and then turned over the table faster. Dirty plates stayed on the table for quite some time. Friendliness was never an issue but having over 60% empty tables at 6:30 on a Friday night seems a bit off. Recommend the Filet!

Would highly recommend. Food service and ambience were all fantastic. There was live piano during dinner, homemade bread and a free appetizer to start.

Pretentious!! Went there tonight, party of 1, at 6:30 PM. Dining room was 95% empty. They asked me if I was staying at the hotel and when the answer was "no" they had no tables available, Whatever........

Beautiful restaurant with view of the White House. Very historic and charming. Excellent drink and wine menu. Traditional food menu with many wonderful options. Service was disappointing. The waiters were very busy, so it appeared to be a staffing issue and hopefully not what we would expect next time. Highly recommend this beautiful restaurant. Great for couples, business meetings and special occasions. Loved the pianist.

I was the youngest person there . The average for diners at the restaurant was 72... so many old people . The service was outstanding. The food was above average. The fresh squeezed OJ was amazingly fresh and sweet. I ordered mushroom omelette which I found a little dry. The Nova Lox bagel was decent .

A favorite comes through yet again. Staff (at the front door, in the kitchen, and in the dining room), food, and that splendid sense of history combined to create a most satisfying experience.

On the fence. Beautiful location in a beautiful hotel. The photos are misleading only 1 table by the fireplace accurately has a view of the White House. We were seated next to it up against a wall... don't go for the view it is not as picturesque as you see. Food was in small portions, with a pretty presentation & it was quiet. $10.00 for orange juice is over the top but the price for the Oatmeal Soufflé is worth it. The food presentation, taste & staff made this place noteworthy. Reserve an early reservation & walk to the Whitehouse before tourists arrive. That was the convenience.
