Actually we had pretty good dinners, mine being a nice beef stew. But this 2% "Wellness Fee" service charge that this place slimed onto our bill, we all have to call this out every time we see it. C'mon owners: Man up and include what your costs are on the menu.

Getting really tired of the absurd fees DC restaurants are charging. This place has a "wellness fee." I asked one of the servers if she knew what it was and if she benefited from it. It's apparently for health care for employees. Great. Why is it I'm subsidizing healthcare for this restaurant's employees? If you can't afford to properly pay your employees and take care of them, maybe operating a business isn't for you. Anyway, food was OK. Moules and frites left something to be desired. The one woman who seated people and occasionally stopped by our table wasn't the nicest person. Rude, actually. I recommend trying it once, but I won't be going back. Not so much the food that will stop me from going back, but the overall experience, meaning the one or two staff members that rubbed me the wrong way and the ridiculous fees...

I love the vibe here! The drinks are fun, strong, and affordably priced. On the weekends there's a live DJ. It's a fun spot to catch up with friends or bring a date on the weekdays when it's a little bit quieter. I've always had excellent service from the bartender - they're knowledgeable and friendly. Overall, 5/5!
