I went for 27 years, every time I was in DC for my annual conference. LOVED the food and my favorite long-time waitress. So sad to see them close the Woodley Park location.

Best food I have had. My family and I decided to get for appetizers gyoza, they are to die for and the katsu? OH MY GOD. If you are in the area you have to stop by.

They made us great sushi, served us great saki, and they accommodated my wheat allergy without any fuss. I was stoked to see salmon harasu (salmon belly/fatty salmon) on the specials menu that night, and ordered some. So good! I will be back.Dietary restrictions: I am allergic to wheat, so I eat gluten-free. They were able to accommodate me without a problem, and they had gluten-free soy sauce (or maybe it was tamari, don't recall).

Super friendly staff, fast service (although be patient when it's super busy), and delicious foodThey have a happy hour special until 7:30 pm for beer, house sake, and 2 pieces for $2. We availed ourselves of these and it was delicious (maybe 60 pieces a person?)

Racist and rude establishment. The waiter with the bowl cut and v neck top exposing his bird chest racially profiled us and tossed a soup bowl on the table.

For $2 sushi during happy hour, it's great. The pieces are fairly small and nothing spectacular but for the price, can't complain. Fills your belly without breaking the bank. Service is friendly, atmosphere is

Tono is mid. The sushi, while tasting ok, was very small compared to other establishments. The pricing was about average. Let's talk about shrinkflation!

The food was very good, especially the mushroom miso soup and the vegetarian sushi (avocado, oshinko, mushroom, veggie deluxe). On a Monday night the place was quiet - perfect for a relaxed celebration dinner - and cozy. Our server Cathy was and kind, helpful, and very accommodating of our four year old. Can’t wait to go back.

I was here on Saturday at 7:30 pm and service was a bit slow but friendly. I ordered the anago maki (saltwater eel and cucumber) but it didn't have any eel in it, just cucumber. It was good... but I ordered it for the eel. First time that's ever happened to me at a sushi place. After that I gave up on ordering eel and got the Mexican roll instead, which was good. I also had the nabeyaki udon, which was very good, but not so good that it can turn my 3-star review into a 4, sadly.

I'm assuming the food is good but we'll never know because they wouldn't seat anyone that wasn't coming in alone, and when we asked, after waiting the 30 minutes for our table, the staff got an attitude and pretty much ignored us. Wont be coming back, bad service will never be acceptable regardless of food quality.

It's real Japanese food. Spoke Japanese to the 3 servers. They seemed to be family. Very friendly. We go every time we are in DC.

The happy hour is legit. It’s $2 per sushi, which is actually 2 pieces so it’s still $1 don’t let the menus confuse. The fish is honestly some of the more fresh fish I’ve had for sushi. Also with $4 house saki this is a can’t miss chill happy hour in DC Adams Morgan
