Although this could be a cool spot, I was incredibly disappointed with the service and treatment by staff. I came here for happy hour after work with some frie, and they a) forgot multiple drinks, and b) took 3x longer to bring out the check or anything else than was necessary. Multiple times while we waited for easy-to-get things, like the bill we asked for 3 times, we could see staff members socializing and avoiding our requests. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend this spot to friends or coworkers because of the poor service and disappointing treatment.

Came here on a Saturday night. The music was good but they did not have the air conditioning on. The downstairs dance floor was dangerously hot. Also the drinks were pretty horrible. Took like 15 minutes to get a drink at the bar upstairs that was not that busy. Inattention and perhaps laziness makes this place rather awful. It's unfortunate that they are one of the few Latin places in town and treat their customers in such a poor manor.

Great place to eat and have a good time. The service is great the staff is very attentive and welcoming. Highly recommend if your are in DC.

I met up with friends for after work drinks and a few nibbles and we closed down the place! Fresh food, nice service, decent drinks.

The tostones here are AMAZING. I would definitely come back just to have more tostones. The other food was delicious as well and the service was really nice!

My friends and I made a happy hour reservation days in advance, only to show up the day of and be told that they weren't seating any reservations that day but that we could help ourselves at the two extremely crowded bars, each with only one bartender. I understand staffing/other issues can sometimes occur but the fact that we were given no notice and no compensation for going all the way to the restaurant to find out what was going on was very disappointing.

I don't normally write reviews, but I felt compelled to for this restaurant. Pretty overpriced, closed at 7 on a Thursday, and their bathroom seems generally unsafe. 0 out of 10 stars, spend your cash elsewhere

Horrible experience. I made a reservation but when we got there it was seat yourself and order at the bar. There was one bartender for the whole restaurant. This was also a downtown DC restaurant that closes at 7 which is unheard of. Then we wasted 45 min of the only two hours that they were open after work waiting in line for drinks. Got our own food from the side of the bar. There was other staff around all standing around doing nothing including the manager who just watched all the guests be absolutely miserable. We were nudged out at 7:15 pm. Never going back.

My friends and I heard about the great happy hour deals here and decided to go this week. However, upon arrival a line to order at the bar was out the door and no hostess or additional staff were to be seen. We had a reservation and couldn’t even find anyone to tell them we had arrived. They did have a sign saying to seat yourself, though there was zero communication about acquiring drinks/food or where to go if you had a reservation. I’d love to come again and try this place, but we left after the line to get in didn’t move at all.

Came in during Happy Hour and the place was extremely short staffed and then the bartender served everyone their drinks before me even though I clearly ordered before them. Food was decent but customer service was horrible will not recommend.

I attended Toro Toro for happy hour and made the reservation via OpenTable but there was no point because once we got there, we were told to seat ourselves and that all orders needed to place at the bar. We waited to place our orders at the bar for over 20 mins. The guacamole was worth the wait, but the rest of the menu items were not. We also had to return to the bar to pick up our own food. While the prices were reasonable and the guac was exceptional the rest of the experience was not.

Had reservations and never got seated. Turns out it's only a happy hour spot and you wait in a long line even with reservations to order a drink and then find your own seat. There was at least 5-6 other groups or couples that ended up leaving just as we did. There was absolutely no one there to great you and explain this. Instead I waisted 30 minutes trying to figure it out. When I tried calling, there was no answer or information. Truly one of the most bizarre ways I have had horrible service or no service!

Really great music. However, they said it was Colombian night, but I heard more bad bunny than I did Joe Arroyo. Not much cumbia either. Still great music and a fun time. Drinks are expensive, but it's downtown DC

Entered for an impromptu HH and sat outside to view the park across the street. The waist staff were kind and instructed me to open a tab to move away from the bar. I order a margarita (pre-made), tequila mojito and the Smoked Swordfish. The margarita was a little tart for my taste, but the mojito was fine. You can definitely taste the smoke from the swordfish, there's a lot of different seasons to it, but it's not spicy as the menu would suggest (the jalapeños are on top of the entree). During these hours you may only order from the HH menu; options would be nice.

We ended up leaving because only the bar (which seats about 10 people) was open. They were only serving happy hour food. I wish they had said they had a limited bar menu available on Open Table; I would've booked somewhere else.
